Owner description: The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

“Very Interesting!”
Reviewed 30 November 2013

We very much enjoyed walking along the promenade. The views were great, although sometimes it can be a bit busy. We had a tour guide so we knew all of the history (it's constantly changing), and what we were seeing.

“Great views from The Bund”
Reviewed 29 November 2013

A leisurely stroll along the Bund is a treat in the daytime or at night. People watching is a must and lots of photo ops are available. However, the best photos of both sides can be had during a Huangpu river cruise with out fighting the crowds.
In the mornings you can see people performing Tai Chi near the Monument to the Peoples Heroes in Huangpu Park (which is at the end of the Bund, near the Waibaidu Bridge).

“Great Attraction, No Fee”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

The path and walkway were recently updated, there is a large gathering area to walk, but depending on the day, it may be very crowded and walking is more like inching. Lots of great photo ops. If you are a foreigner, be prepared to be asked to be in someone's photo. It happened to me a lot because I was a blond. Be patient, they may want to take turns with you if the person is in a group. Take it in stride and be good-hearted about it, but keeping an eye on your personal belongings is still always a good idea. Very pretty at night too as the lights give it a whole new look from the day.

A very fascinating area of town with some great people watching opportunities and amazing views of The Bund and Pudong.

The most fun aspect is all of the photo shoots happening around various spots. Very touristy and crowded, especially on the weekends. Must do during the day and night.

“Great place to walk”
Reviewed 15 November 2013

Very neat place to walk around and take pictures. Lots of boats passing through the harbor so it's a good place to go at night to see them all lit up. Not quite the same as the promenade along Hong Kong harbor, but then no place is.
