We stayed in the hotel on business and were looked after incredibly well from the moment we arrived to the second we departed. The rooms were spacious, luxurious and everything had been considered so carefully. The pool and spa facilities were excellent and we dined in the excellent French restaurant which catered perfectly for our group. The experience was only surpassed by the wonderful views over Shanghai!

Brand new. The staff could not be more helpful and attentive. The swimming pool, which we had for ourselves for two days, is magnificent. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with everything you might need provided. We arrived much earlier than check in time, but were immediately accommodated in an upgraded room. On the day of our departure, we were able to store our luggage and spend the day in Shanghai before our evening flight. This hotel is one of the best we have stayed in and, though not cheap, whilst offering a two nights for the price of one introductory offer, represents excellent value.
The only negative was that there was a charge for wi-fi.

We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel in Shanghai. We stayed at mandarin oriental for two nights for my husbands birthday. We had a wonderful time. The staff were extremely attentive and really went out of their way to make our stay special. The facilities are fantastic and we particularly enjoyed the spa and fitness area. It is one of the best we have seen. We were extremely relaxed at the end of our stay and can only say good things about our stay. It was really wonderful.

Let me begin by saying I can easily recommend this hotel without reservation. I have lived in Shanghai for years and frequent the hotels here for a local getaway a few times annually. This has been the most enjoyable experience yet. Of course the aesthetics of the hotel itself are impressive as is the location, but what sets this hotel apart is the unfailing service. During breakfast I sneezed repeatedly (allergies) and it wasn't long before a server offered me ginger tea and a new location set away from the air conditioning. Other hotels in Shanghai are generally happy to respond to requests, but I've not yet experienced one where the staff anticipate the guest's needs and take action before being asked.

The room itself was gorgeous with an incredible river view and happened to be immediately adjacent to the elevator. This was a non-issue, however, because I didn't hear a sound from the elevator itself or people in the hallway the entire weekend, though I was not the only guest in the vicinity.

I ordered room service and was quite happy with it. Not only was the ordering process seamless (it seems every employee here speaks English), the food arrived promptly and was delicious.

The club level, if you opt for that, is remarkable. There is always something tasty available to eat and drink. I spent quite some time enjoying the atmosphere while reading in their cozy chairs and sipping on a nice drink. I definitely look forward to going back!

Room Tip: I doubt there's a bad room in the place.

I recently stayed for 2 nights while travelling through Shanghai. The service from the outset was excellent with staffing levels far exceeding other hotels I have visited and probably reflecting the recent opening of the hotel.

The rooms smelt and felt brand new and the quality of all of the furnishings and fittings excellent. The spa and fitness centre was amazing and the pool too good to resist. The staff in particular the pool attendant Gary very friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble.

I would definitely recommend the hotel although its new and quite a few taxi drivers didn't know it existed!

We went for a family stay with 2 children to try out the new hotel and take advantage of the opening offer. The experience exceeded our expectations. The hardware is fantastic with attractive decor throughout and carefully finished. One usually expects a few glitches in any first week of opening but there were none.

What was really special was the quality of the service from check in to check out. The discreet presence and offers of help, warmth of the team towards our children who we let roam freely around the hotel made this a very special and successful stay.

The location might be a bit awkward to find the first time so consider a hotel car to pick you up if you need it. But this is genuinely overlooking the river in a way that many other 'riverside' locations in Shanghai are not. No 8 lane highway to cross to get to the river banks.

Room Tip: Riverside rooms have spectacular views
