Owner description: The Multimedia Theatrical Spectacular 'ERA Intersection of Time' has been performed since its debut at Shanghai Circus World in September 2005. It is unique and comparable to the tradition of the Broadway Musical. It is in fact a stunning acrobatic show combining traditional Chinese arts and modern technologies. The performers present Chinese acrobatics, martial arts and dance perfectly in harmony with the music, sound, lighting, and other special effects, which include a water screen. While you marvel at the highly proficient skills of the performers, the story of China's evolution from its ancient past to the future is told. Hence, the title 'Intersection of Time', as the viewpoint of the audience is set in the present between the past and the future. The performance provides a wonderful insight into China's ancient culture and civilization, with sections about Sinan, an ancient Chinese invention for telling directions, soothsaying and conjuring. There is a fantastic section showing an acrobatic program which has elements performed since the far off days of the Han Dynasty (206BC–220AD). With porcelain jars and vats as their stage properties the performers give an overview of Chinese porcelain culture and greater understand of the country's name of 'China'.Modern achievements that are also showcased include Shanghai Donghai Cross-Sea Bridge, Maglev Train, and Shenzhou 5, China's first manned space mission. From these, you can see the amazing development and bright future of Shanghai and the whole country. The 100-minute performance shows not only artistic skills, but also creativity. Aided by multimedia including vision, original live music, sound effects, smell effect, air conditioning and lighting,

My partner and I saw the show. Overall, it was great. I think there is a little story line, perhaps about China's progress over the years, but, honestly, it is irrelevant. The acrobats are the show. All of them were amazing and entertaining. The show/production does not have the kind of polish like cirque du soleil, but the acrobats are just as good. We traveled to the show by subway line 1, and it was quick and easy. It is not the nicest neighborhood in Shanghai, though. Tip: we paid for the tickets at the box office and saved money paying in yuan rather than in USD on paypal.

Highly entertaining show! There are many impressive performances by very talented people. They mention on the website it is a multimedia presentation and it is - they overlay beautiful photos and scenes on the stage surroundings, and the music is all live, which was impressive.

As mentioned it is easily accessed from the metro - don't be like me and wander down the wrong street, though! When you exit the metro you have to go kitty-corner to the opposite corner and then walk down past all the tourist busses to the entrance (which is not where the lighted archway is). I was by myself because my colleague didn't want to see this show, and I felt perfectly safe in this neighborhood, so don't let that stop you.

I bought my tickets online with PayPal about two hours before the show and was a bit concerned there might be some difficulties picking them up, but no, they are very organized and they were waiting for me at the ticket desk.

There are drinks (including beer and wine) and snacks available for purchase in the lobby that you can bring inside to the show. Don't be late, though, as it starts promptly and is very dark inside, making it difficult to locate your exact seat (although the ushers pointed me in the right direction).

I would definitely recommend seeing this show if you have a chance.

Acrobats quite amazing. The night we visited they had motor bikes driving around in a metal cage very clever driving as it would have only taken a seconds inattention for them to crash.

The Shanghai acrobats offer a show that, if you haven't seen it, is one not to miss. It only lasts for about 90 minutes, but you'll spend a good part of that with your mouth wide open in amazement. It's spectacular, humorous and bewildering.

The show takes place at Shanghai Circus World - there's a station of the same name right next door, so it is very easy to get to and from, and the auditorium is quite small so don't worry about the necessity to buy expensive tickets if you don't want to. You'll get a great view wherever you sit - though in the more expensive seats you might not end up with an infant child behind you, as I did, so if that might bother you (not me) then it's a consideration.

The show consists of a variety of set pieces featuring acrobats, jugglers, trapeze artists, stilts walkers and tumblers and a spectacular denouement featuring guys riding motorcycles inside a steel globe.

Go see this!

Wow! This was an exciting show - easily one of the best I've seen. Funny and mystifying throughout! Definitely would recommend anyone visiting Shanghai attend this... and there are really no bad seats, so just a general "cheap seat" is perfect to enjoy the show.
