“Best location !!!”

The hotel is right at the middle of Nanjing Road (Shopping Haven of Shanghai).
It is on the 7th floor of GIORDANO store.
Right in front of the hotel is the CITY SIGHTSEEING BUS. The best way to tour shanghai!
Comfy and clean beds with bathtub!
The only problem in this hotel is their terrible breakfast.
However, it is no biggie since the location is still the best!

Room Tip: Choose a room higher than the 7th floor (lobby) since the cabaret is located at the 7th floor.

If location is your priority, then this hotel is located right on East Nanjing Road. This is the main shopping strip and takes you to bank of the river where all those extraordinary buildings can be seen.
If having breakfast in the hotel is also important, I do not recommend it. Apart from toast, butter and jam, nothing else for Westerner's taste buds. Even the asian dishes are ordinary. Fruit juice is cordial, was going to have coffee until I poured the ??milk??. Did not drink it.
In light of the extremely competitve rates, my recommendation is stay at the hotel, but have breakfast somewhere else. Still be cheap.

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor thus ensuring peace and quiet. If non smoker make sure to specify non smoking...

The room was nice but the breakfast was terrible. We stayed in a family room. It was nice and had a suite. Couldn't have a bath though because the stopper wouldn't work. The breakfast was disgusting and inedible. We didn't bother going to breakfast the second day.

Room Tip: The family room is nice. It has a suite

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The location is very nice since it is along East Nanjing Road. So near from shopping, fastfood and metro stations. The room and service need some improvement. Money spent for this hotel is worth it.

Yes it's an old hotel but for the price we paid we're not complaining.

We're a family of 7 adults and a baby and we occupied two triple family rooms for four nights.

Good points:
1. We arrived at 2am and we were quickly checked in by this nice lady in the reception and yes she speaks English so we had no problem communicating.
2. Hotel is strategically located. Almost all of the tourist sites are walkable from it.
3. They only have one triple family room per floor so we were placed in floors next to each other as I requested via email. The rooms were spacious with nice wooden floors. The sofa in the living room was long enough to sleep one person. We were not charged for the extra person. The beds were very comfy.
4. Our rooms were facing Nanjing Pedestrian St.

Bad point:
1. Breakfast, as others have said. Food and service were really bad.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. It's excellent for the price we paid.

This hotel was recommended to us by some locals. However after trying to book online we encountered some problems so phoned the hotel directly to try and sort it out. We were told that we had until 6pm to sort out why our credit card wasn't working in their system (was working for everything else) and we were doing everything possible to fix this asap. However before we even got close to this time an email was sent to us saying our booking had been cancelled. They were happy for me to book again with the price having gone up by $100 a night. Our chinese friends who were trying to help us were treated like rubbish and in the end had to hang up. We are traveling with 2 other couples who have now canceled their bookings as well.
I am really disappointed as this seemed like a great location and hotel. Hopefully no one else has this problem.

The location is perfect for travellers! Right in the middle of the shopping street and nearby tourist spots. The nearest MTR (East Nanjing) is just a 5-7 min walk fro the hotel.

As to the room/service, we didn't encounter any problems as we were mostly out during the day. During check in (1am), we just had a problem with the automatic door lock but it was quickly resolved the next day. We got a deluxe room, it was neat and clean. Just needs improvement on its toiletries.

Breakfast was so-so, just enough to get you moving in the morning.

Overall, for its price, it was a great experience! I would definitely recommend this hotel!
