“Excellent location, beautiful building”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed at the Seventh Heaven hotel for two nights. It is located in the middle of East Nanjing road but if you come by taxi you have to be very specific about the precise location because this road is pedestrian road. So the taxi driver may refuse to take you there. A good idea is to ask them to take you at Hubei Rd intersection with East Nanjing.
The room are all small and no space to leave your luggage but the window view was great . Plenty of mineral water also available for free. What made us very bad impression about the hotel was the staff. Although they speak very good english they seemed to be a little prejudiced about non- chinese travellers. They were ironic towards us. Specifically when we asked to put aside our luggages for few hours after check out they told us to leave them in the hallway! We insisted to put them on a secure place but the lady refused telling us that she will take care of them! In the meantime we saw a chinese couple putting their luggage in a locked room!
It"s a pity to have such behaviour because it's an excellent hotel. Also note that they asked us to pre authorise our card with a deposit of two-night plus 30 per cent of that.

The location of this hotel is great. Right on the heart of everything! You look out the window and feel like you are staying in Times square. It is also in between two major metro stops.

The "old charm" of the building is fun, feels like a European boutique hotel. We stayed in a family suite and my daughter like having get own room.

That is where the good stuff ends though.

The room is dirty. Deep dirt, grime, dust, ware and tear etc. There are stains on the walls, water marks on the ceiling. The molding around some of the window panes was crumbling. The grout in the bathroom was disgusting, as was the shower head. I killed several small bugs during our stay. There was also mold on the shower curtain....which they did replace right away when asked.

The breakfast buffet is really small and had little variety. About 6 hot dishes, bread to make toast and a pot of rice. No juice or fruit.

There is tv and internet, but no English speaking channels.

Very little closet or drawer space, so all three of us lived out of our suit cases.

Although we loved the location, we would not stay here again

The USP of the Hotel is its location! Right in the middle of the Pedestrian street (East Nanjing Road) and within walking distance from the Bund, it is an ideal haven for any tourist who likes the hustle-bustle of the city. Friendly English knowing staff at the reception was an added advantage.
The rooms though small are cozy and for us who were out for most of the day, it provided a good retreat for the night.
The breakfast could definitely have better!! Also there should be more tables available for the guests for breakfast and sufficient cutlery should be provided.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the higher floor, and not close to the elevator

The hotel is right at the middle of Nanjing Road (Shopping Haven of Shanghai).
It is on the 7th floor of GIORDANO store.
Right in front of the hotel is the CITY SIGHTSEEING BUS. The best way to tour shanghai!
Comfy and clean beds with bathtub!
The only problem in this hotel is their terrible breakfast.
However, it is no biggie since the location is still the best!

Room Tip: Choose a room higher than the 7th floor (lobby) since the cabaret is located at the 7th floor.

If location is your priority, then this hotel is located right on East Nanjing Road. This is the main shopping strip and takes you to bank of the river where all those extraordinary buildings can be seen.
If having breakfast in the hotel is also important, I do not recommend it. Apart from toast, butter and jam, nothing else for Westerner's taste buds. Even the asian dishes are ordinary. Fruit juice is cordial, was going to have coffee until I poured the ??milk??. Did not drink it.
In light of the extremely competitve rates, my recommendation is stay at the hotel, but have breakfast somewhere else. Still be cheap.

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor thus ensuring peace and quiet. If non smoker make sure to specify non smoking...

The room was nice but the breakfast was terrible. We stayed in a family room. It was nice and had a suite. Couldn't have a bath though because the stopper wouldn't work. The breakfast was disgusting and inedible. We didn't bother going to breakfast the second day.

Room Tip: The family room is nice. It has a suite
