Excellent location with nice clean rooms but poor service when I was there. The cleaning staff did their job well and were very nice when delivering fruit/sweets/water but the customer facing staff were not very helpful. Asking for recommendations for say a manicure resulted in directing my wife to the hotel spa which turned out to be closed for renovation. The concierge desk really should have known this and ready to recommend alternatives. When it came to restaurants, it was more of the same.

A Radisson GM of some sort was there one day yelling at the customers for smoking in the lobby. Whether you smoke or not, the lobby had one side with ash trays for it and there is just no reason to yell at any customers.

At this price point, you can do much better for a little more or get better value elsewhere.

My mum and I recently stayed in Room 3303 for a few days to discover the great efficiency, courtesy, alertness, friendliness, and cheerfulness of the staff that are admirable beyond words. Even an email that we sent to them before arrival for a package pick-up from Pudong Airport is promptly replied, and they carried out what was promised punctually and efficiently. Moreover, the central location of the hotel is absolutely perfect for tourists. In addition, the room is very clean with excellent bath. Oh yes, the buffet breakfasts that we had are simply great. As frequent travellers to various cities of the world, we are greatly impressed by the excellent amenities and pleasing attitudes offered by this hotel.

Second time i stayed at this property. Very close to Nanjing walking street and the metro. Clean with very well appointed rooms. Complimentary wifi, robes, turn down service, etc. The fitness center is well above average with lots of aerobic options, suana and pretty good weight selection. Staff is well trained and attentiive, but few have a genuine sense of hospitality (everyone colors inside the lines, but no one is having much fun). Food offerings are pretty good, but expensive (the $10 pot of tea in the lobby). If breakfast is not included in your room rate the buffet will run $30, and it's better to order off the menu. All in all, a very good choice if you're in town for business.

Room Tip: Go higher if you can to avoid the traffic noise. Food on property is expensive.

Used loyalty points to stay here for four nights (someone enquiring next to me when I checked in was quoted £168pn). Beautiful lobby and rooms (was upgraded to boot!).

Struggled to sleep due to heat in the room - lack of ability to control it at all.

English speaking of employees was poor but I managed to use the laundry service and borrow a UK adaptor for which I was very grateful.

Central location but when I arrived on a Saturday evening it was frantic everywhere outside and just like piccadilly circus, London. I wouldn't stay in that area again as there was no restaurants nearby (beyond McDonalds). I had been recommended the French Concession but did not find anything amazing there. I did like Xintiandi which is a very western area with lovely restaurants - if that is what you want.

Only reason I'm not ranking it excellent is the room heat and noise. I was in the main front block on the 8th floor and you can here the constant beeping of cars and noises in the square

The Radisson is located at Km. 0 so it literally is in the center of everything. If it was not walkable, then the subway is right underneath, or just an inexpensive taxi ride away. The hotel is clean, the staff very helpful. The concierge desk was a godsend. Tell them where you wanted to go, and they wrote it on a card, in Chinese character, and you could just hand that to the taxi driver. The reverse of the card had directions to take you back to the hotel. The rooms were clean and large. Although we had no use for the businessman's desk and foyer, and this extra space could have been better put to use to add to bedroom space or a dressing room, it would be a nice space to have if you were actually on business and needed space to set up your laptop. On the 2nd floor of this hotel, there is a wonderful tailor, who outfitted my husband with a nice jacket and 5 shirts, in less than 48 hours. My impeccable dresser of a husband loves the results. When I come back to Shanghai, I would definitely stay here again and again.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor, you might get better views. Although we were too tired from all day touring to...

I stayed at the Radisson Blu for three nights in Feb 2012. It was a wonderful stay. My room was on the 37th floor and was a two room suite. It had a small desk/office in the entry way and a larger room beyond. The bathroom was quite spacious with a shower and bathtub separate. There were ample US electric sockets that kept my gadgets fully charge. The view was quite incredible as well. The gym was excellent and free. I wish I had more time to use the suana facilties and hot tub. Breakfast was excellent and had a great selection of western and chinese foods. The lounge on the top floor had an amazing view and the band was actually pretty fun. The Heineken draft was a good choice. I wished I had had dinner at the restaurant below and been able to enjoy the views that were even better at a window table in the restaurant. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone.

Room Tip: try and get a two room suite on a high floor if you can.
