I stayed here for nearly a month in March 2012. The room is comfortable and with bed that is more similar to the European standard in hardness. The location of the hotel is very good, it is next to the MRT and a mall was attached to it. The service is average as compared to the China standard. There is free wifi in the room, and fresh fruits was supplied most of the time. The con were that sometime there is a long wait to be seated at breakfast and the number of tv channels is limited compared to the China standard.

Room Tip: There are MacDonald, Burger King and KFC in the basement of the mall next door.

Stayed twice at the Radisson Blu New World during business roundtrip in China. Both times, I received a room upgrade to a Luxury Room, with an ensuite office. Room is surprisingly spacious given the central location of the hotel (in New York or Paris a room at this kind of location would be half the size). Service was impeccable. And I want to mention the very large choice at the breakfast buffet .. Next to the continental breakfast, especially the Asian section is overwhelming. Location of hotel is good, the Bund is just a short walk away and Xintiandi about the same in opposite direction. Excellent choice for both business traveller and tourist.

Great hotel for business guests, my office was very close. Shopping is very close, can't believe that you can actually walk from the Bund to the hotel and vice versa.

Breakfast is OK, WIFI is good but the view from my hotel was not that great. Guess you just have to wait until town planning takes effect for the back side of the Radisson to get 5 stars from me!

The hotel is very centrally located, with good amenities. Helpful to have links directly into the shopping centre and further to the underground metro and the Nanjing pedestrian street. A little different from most other Radisson Blu hotels as the decor was a little more contemporary than modern. However, this made no difference to very good service and the same high Radisson standards.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the Park and try to go as high as possible. Floor 20 and above.

I was at the Radission Blu Hotel during Easter 2012. The hotel check-in was effortless particularly after a long flight and train ride from the airport. If you dont mind spending a bit more money, I highly recommend the Maglev (still cheap) otherwise it takes close to an 1.5 hrs to get to the hotel but definitely a cheaper way to travel than a taxi. The subway line 2 from the airport gets you straight to New World and Peoples Square (same station but multiple exits) so very convenient if you travelling with luggage. Please note to have coins / change to purchase train tickets.

I highly recommend this hotel for a number of reasons, the room was spacious with a separate study, shower, toilet and a lovely bath which was perfect after a day of sightseeing. The gym and spa facilities at the hotel were fantastic. I was able to indulge in personal spa daily at the gym and staff were very polite and courteous. The hotel location was fantastic particularly if you want to be close to station (literally across the road from the hotel) Nanjing Road Shopping, Peoples Square, Bund (30 min walk but a short taxi ride). Taxi's between attractions is a cheap and convenient way to travel and often saves a lot of time.

I dont speak any Chinese dialects and this is where the hotel staff were very helpful . The concierge wrote points of interest in chinese and english which made travel on taxis to and from attractions very handy. The concierge provided honest and helpful advice on types of tours including recommendations on local / not so touristy places including places to eat.

Highly recommend a trip out of Shanghai to water town of zhouzhuang and Suzhou highlight of the trip! Recommend dumplings at yang (local institution), walk along the bund, a visit to either level 87 of the Living Room for High Tea or the bar on Level 92 from where you can enjoy the view of the Shanghai Tower and the Bund.

Overall a great experience as it made my stay in Shanghai pleasant inspite of language issues.

Quick summary: This is a nice business-class hotel with all the expected amenities, located across the street from People's Park.

We stayed here for 5 nights, and the location across from People's Park provided easy access to the carious museums, shopping, restaurants, transit, etc.

Room #1209 overlooks the back of the hotel - not terribly scenic or interesting. The views on the other side of the hall should overlook People's Park and the buidings that light up in snazzy colored lights at night.

The room itself is pretty comfortable and quiet, with 2 beds, and a separate sheet as well as a duvet on the beds (I often find duvets too warm, even with the A/C turned up.) Basic tub with shower in the bathroom. All the expected amentities of a good business-class hotel: waffle robes, good TV, iron/board, coffee/tea maker, toiletries. The in-room safe is big enough for a netbook, but not a full laptop. The room could use more drawer space.

Excellent hourskeeping. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout.

Free wi-fi throughout the hotel works well. There is also a line in the room for direct connection.

Windows on the Park for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Teh brakfast buffet was included in the room rate, and had a wide variety of dishes for WEstern and Asian tastes. There is a goo domlette man making eggs to order. I also had dinner there one evening of pasta, salad, and wine, all pretty good and reasonably priced for this kind of hotel. There are many restauratns in the area (try Kathleen's neaby in the Shanghai Art Museum,) but I was tired after a long day.

There are fancier restaurants in the hotel at higher prices that look pretty good. One is a revolving place on the top floor if you want that experience.

There is a fitness center, pool, and spa, but I didn;t use any of this.

The Sky Dome Bar on the 47th floor of the building has good views of the city. Well-priced drinks and wines by the glass, and light meals and snacks (burgers, samosas, etc.) Sunday night had a good contemporary jazz band (Jazzy Bund) with a talented singer. Other nights is a different jazz band that I didn't hear.

Room Tip: Try for a room facing the street if you like lots of colored lights onteh building, overlooking the...

Hotel rooms are comfortable and large. I was on the 26th floor with 40 sq. meter room. Room had a separate desk area. Hawkers that pester white male guests every time you enter or leave the hotel are a pain. This is because the hotel is located just off Nanjing East Road, a street notorious for tourist scams.

Hotel service is a bit intrusive. I had work to do from the hotel. Hotel staff rang the doorbell every hour or so to ask about laundry, cleaning, minibar, etc. I do not mind an interruption and I do want my room cleaned, but the constant interruptions were bothersome. The hotel did reduce the interruptions after I complained.

On the plus side, the street behind the hotel had 70 Minute foot massage for 35 CNY, about $5USD.
