Wonderful 5 star hotel by the Starwood chain. Rooms are spacious, clean and all have a nice view of the city. Hotel has wonderful amenities , like the pool & spa. Breakfast was one of the best I've experienced. Staff are very attentive, from doormen to housekeeping. Congrats to the management for a job well done. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Askfor a room with a view of Pudong

I have regularly stayed in this hotel in the last 3-4 years. Great location very efficient front desk. Love the room layout. It is modern and spacious. It is in the heart of Shanghai. A lots great restaurants and good shopping just around corner. But the concierge is big let down. If you leaving hotel before 8 am in the morning. They only let the RED taxi queuing in the hotel which is famous for ripping people off. Something is happening btw the concierge and dodgy taxi driver! If you going to the Airport make sure request a non red taxi! It really shouldn't happen in a 5star hotel. Big letdown by the concierge!

Love this place & always stay here when in Shanghai.
If you go club or have access, the lounge is high up and has just suberb views of the city.
Stephanie (in particular) will provide just excellent hospitality if she is working & all staff are just great & helpful.
Kind of wierd elevator system, but you get used to it!
Got to the bar at the top at night, see the Shanghai light show with the Pearl Oriental Tower the star!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor to get the best views!

If you are in Shanghai for a couple of days, then this place is in the location where you should be. It's near more or less everything. The tower is huge so rooms have great views and the rooms are well furnished and large.

Service is good in hotel and breakfast was great. Nearby there are shopping areas, bars and restaurants. Very lively area and lots to see.

The hotel is very elegant and has a great location on Nanjing Road. I was there on vacation and the hotel felt like it was very formal and not very friendly. The gym/ spa is very nice but a bit small. If I was there for business it would have been ok but next time I would pick a hotel that is more laid back and not so pretentious.

The highest hotel in the central Shanghai (Nanjing walking street is 20 meters away), very nice view, kind and helpful staff. Room is quite large and the bed is very comfortable. There is one sky bar on 66th floor which is quite nice. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choices.
Only problem for me is the speed of the internet is not as good as the other services provided by this hotel.

The thing is: This hotel is right in Nanjing Lu. Maybe the most famous and iconic road in Shanghai.
Everytime you've seen a movie with a sequence that takes place in modern day China, Nanjing Lu is there with its neon lights, its crazy crowd and its amazing collection of small business and skyscrapers. So location-wise, it is fantastic. Also it's very near The Bund and its worldwide famous skyline and to People's Square and other key locations you cannot miss when visiting Shanghai for pleasure or fun.

The hotel itself is quite comfortable. Nothing extraordinary, but service is good and the rooms are nice. Best thing about them is the view. You cannot miss the view.

Turn off: Lately you see more and more hustlers, prostitutes and hawkers selling fake merchandising hovering around the hotel. Sometimes this is annoying. Particularly late at night, when some prostitutes can be found hanging out in the lobby desperately trying to establish eye contact with the residents. Of course, you just ignore their presence and carry on with your stay.

The gym is very good. Over all, great option downtown.

Room Tip: Get a room with view to Nanjing Lu.
