We took a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom for our family of 6 recently (no kids). The rooms are decent, though a little aged. The space is large and open for the 1 bedroom, so no complaints there. They have a working washing machine, but do not provide detergent.

There is a working kitchen but there are no pots/pans/cutlery/plates etc. So, if you are expecting Ascot/Oakwood type serviced apartments, do not come here. One night, we decided to eat in and that was when we discovered that the kitchen did not have anything to eat/cook with (for both apartments). We called the reception (there is only one guy manning the desk downstairs and he is the check in guy/concierge/housekeeper), and they seemed shocked that we would need any of those items! In any case, they did come up and led me to their 'store room', which incidentally was an unused one bedroom apartment, stacked with supplies. The cutlery was messily strewn all over the kitchen counter and sink, not at all organised (and, as we found out later) or cleaned! He has to scramble around the mess to get me 6 sets of everything, and when we finally got everything sorted I found that some of the cutlery had dried food stains that took a while to get out!

Stay here only if you get a good rate, and if you only want a roof over your head. Everything was clean (save for the cutlery) but do not expect any service.

Rooms are absolutely huge and have two AC's. The kitchens are nice and you have a balcony (at least whenever we stay here we do) with a washer/dryer outside (on balcony),

Bedding all of great quality, Kohler fixtures, etc. Helpful front desk and a great location for shopping, etc. Laundry place across the street and a mini-mart that's 24 hours a few hundred feet from the entrance.

Only negative is the fitness center is on the top floor and sadly not air conditioned, so it gets hot!

Recommended for all expats. Will go back.

Room Tip: Get a suite! Worth the extra $10-20.

My wife and I spent 8 nights at this interesting hotel in March 2011. The reason I use the term "interesting" is, because many of the building's 33 floors are used as office space.
Our very spacious, modern and clean apartment (with small kitchen) was wonderful with fine views over-looking the city of Shanghai. The difficulty arose when requesting an elevator at times when office staff were either coming to work or going home. The elevators would be so hopelessly over-burdened that to get downstairs would require anything from a 5-10 minute wait. Outside of those times there was no problem.
We had booked our stay with Agoda and had no difficulties what so ever with this service. Our deal included one person's breakfast in the hotel restaurant. While the food was ok, the condition of the dining room was something else. The wall to wall carpet was so soiled and torn up, that in most western countries, health inspectors would probably have closed it down.
That did not affect our ability to enjoy our stay in the hotel though. But I felt I should mention this as some people would really consider this a problem. As mentioned, our room (which was more important to us) was very clean.
Do not forget to ask the front desk for plates, pots, glasses, mugs etc. if needed.
They are not in the kitchenette to begin with.
Location of hotel was good to the subway station (5-8 min walk) and restaurant zone (8-10 min walk) and grocery stores (5-15 min walk)
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a clean western style hotel (except the dining room), with their own cooking facilities in the room.

Room Tip: Avoid coming and going from your room at times when office workers are arriving or leaving on other non-hotel floors of building.

We spent 3 nights here in early June. The hotel was excellent value for money with a large apartment style room. Reception was efficient and pleasant. The room was spotless and comfortable with a dining table and chairs and a sofa. The kitchenette was useful - there were no utensils or plates when we arrived but housekeeping supplied what we requested.
Breakfast provided a reasonable choice of western dishes (plus all the chinese breakfast items too).
The only downside was that several of our taxi drivers had difficulty locating the hotel and there is no close metro station. However, we had no problem walking either to Nanjing Road or to Peoples Square.

We booked this hotel due to a 75 EUR daily budget and it included internet and breakfast. The internet was too slow to use anything but emails but the breakfast was great. Bed was good, and the size of the room is amazing. So are the views. All in all, a very positive experience.
