“Great location and clean”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

This hotel is in a great location. Very close to Peoples Square and a number of metro lines. Also very close to Nanjing East Rd shopping area. It is very convenient to get around to see the sites and only 2 metro stops to get to the other side on the river to the new side of the city. The hotel was clean and staff friendly. Western option for breakfast was limited to cereal, toast, flied egg, sometimes bacon and hash browns. Also offered fruit, cheese and slice meat. When booking put a request for a high level apartment as the noise from the street may keep you awake on lower levels if you are a light sleeper.

Room Tip: Request higher level apartment as the noise from the street may keep you awake if on lower levels. P...

The hotel was at a very convenient location to the Nanjing street, metro and convenience stores. The ambience of the hotel was excellent. My kids loved the spaciousness and comfort. With a mini kitchenette, we even cooked dinner one night.

The hotel apartments are located very centrally-walking distance to most sites really easily. Beautiful lobby, well decorated, very helpful staff and a varied breakfast-changes everyday. The rooms/apartments are very well fitted; nice furniture, great kitchen with all ones needs. The bed/linen is lovely. Cleaned daily. A very good choice-i ll stay here again!

During my early stay in shanghai, we stayed at green court apartments. It is very well placed at the people square and near East Nanjing road, but lacks the comfort of a luxury stay. Though the rooms are comfortable but are a but cramped and small. This place is very good for short stays and provides very good value for money, but if you have to stay for longer duration then it gets a bit cramped. The buffet breakfast option is not very good if you are not a Chinese traveler.

This was our 4th visit to this amazingly located apartment hotel. It is located opposite the Marriot hotel and just 2 minutes walk to the Nanjing Road pedestrian street. Our apartment is so well arranged with a comfortable bed room , a nice sitting room with a great view , a well equipped kitchen, and a nice bathroom. All this for a little over USD 100 including 1 breakfast. Absolute value for money and truly recommended.

Green Court Serviced Apartments are next door to Marriott City Centre Hotel, just one block walk from the huge People's Park metro station and the start of the Nanjing East Road Pedestrian shopping road. About a 20 minute walk down Nanjing Pedestrian road to the Bund.
Also only about a 15-20 minute walk to the Han Market (fakes) marketat 580 Nanjing West Road - the best tourist market on the west side of the river for bags, jackets, souvenir tshirts, electronics and the like.
All in all, an excellent location. There are tons of restaurants (Chinese and western), cafe, shops and fast food around the location, and a small park across the road which sports Chinese fitness equipment,

Green Park Apartments themselves are exceptionally clean and tidy, with inviting lobby areas, and breakfast included in the room rate, although the breakfast is nothing much in itself.
2-room apartments have washing machines although studio apartments don't - but there is a commercial laundry and dry cleaning service on the ground floor.
I particularly liked the fact that they have a cash exchange machine in the lobby that exchanges foreign currency for RMB - at very close to the bank rate, with no commission and much better rates than the Travelex counters at the airport. Often hotels have ATM machines, but I haven't seen a cash exchange machine in a hotel lobby before.

All apartments, even the studios, have kitchen or kitchenette facilities including ceramic hob, microwave and dishwasher. Rooms have DVD player, ipod dock and the bathrooms have reasonable quality toiletries. The beds were firm but good quality. I stayed in a studio room which didn't have a seperate lounge. The room was compact, but comfortable. The kitchenette unit was in the access hallway.

I thought that the value and cleanliness of the Green Park was a great deal, particularly compared with other hotels in Shanghai at an identical price. I have no problem at all in recommending Green Park, particularly if you are looking for more spacious apartment style accommodation.

Room Tip: Get apartment with lounge if possible

This hotel is in a very good place to explore Shanghai as it is near the Peoples Square and the Nanking pedestrian shopping centre. The metro and buses stop at Peoples Square too. The hotel itself has very helpful staff who all speak good English. The room was the size of a typical budget hotel but also had an annexe with fridge, microwave, hot plates, toaster and dishwasher. It was furnished with good quality hardwood furniture with a rosewood floor. The bed was firm but comfortable and the place was clean. Plenty of washing products were provided, including toothbrushes and paste. The coffee, tea, bottled water and dishwasher powder were replenished daily. Shangkai is a noisy city as the cars hoot their horns constantly but we could on just hear it as we were on the 11th floor (of I think 18). Breakfast was a buffet and had slightly different items available on each day. There was plenty to cater for all tastes including cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, cold meats, hot items for European and Chinese clients.
A strange feature is that only one breakfast voucher is provided per room but another can be purchased on the day for the equivalent of about £6. In brief this hotel was in a good position, is clean and has helpful staff. The extra facilities can be helpful for preparing the odd snack.
The best way of getting to the hotel from the airport is probably by taxi which will cost less than £20. The metro is cheaper but the station is a bit of a distance from the airport. Co not end up as we did getting a hire car at the airport thinking it is a taxi. It will cost you around £50. The car firms will approach you as you arrive. If you have a choice of rooms the higher you are the quieter it will be. The lifts are quiet and speedy. We did not use any other facilities.

Room Tip: The streets of Shanghai are noisy. Higher rooms will be quieter
