We were charged for breakfast even though the hotel advertized free breakfast. We were told by the manager, Joe Hou, it was a publication error. Clearly a lie and dishonest. The heat did not work and the only accomodation was a space heater for the bathroom. Upon checkout, the bellman sent us to the wrong airport which cost us extra fare and we almost missed our flight. The hotel is beautiful, but guest should not stay there until there is a change of staff especially the manager.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else if visiting Shanghai....

I stayed there five nights. They had upgraded my room and the room was good one with lots of space. Linen as well as toiletries was of good quality. The front office was helpful and was understanding English as well. They charged me 20 CNY for printing out my air ticket! The staff at the gate was helpful in getting you taxi and explaining the taxi driver about destination. Breakfast was elaborated but the restaurant was crowded on a busy day. Location is not good - far from city center. To reach to nearest subway station, you have to hire a taxi even. However, I was informed that a subway station (within 100 mt from the Hotel) is about to be started shortly.

The wall of the room is not strong enough to keep away the noise next door.. The humidity is a little high in the room. I was upgraded to the highest floor, the view was pretty good in the morning...

The lounge was very good and with privacy. The breakfast is nice both at lounge and lobby.

The hotel is a little bit old, like 90s Chinese luxury ones...

The front agent was so so but the housekeeping staff were very kind.

This hotel is a typical Chinese 'luxury' hotel - looks like a grand hotel but when you look under ths skin its just a front. This hotels is 30-45 minutes taxi ride from the LuJiaZui financial district and the Bund, so you would stay here only if you had business in the outer (eastern) reaches of Pudong which is why I was here. I paid Rmb 450 for a room (including breakfast) but was upgraded to the top floor in an executive room - in reality this meant i had a bigger room but was not eligible to use the Executive Lounge or other benefits ! Also the noise from the elevator switchgear could clearly be heard all night. The bedroom and bathroom were clean but use of shower caused flooding in bathroom. Breakfast was usual Chinese fare plus eggs cooked anyway you like - fine for me.

I´ve spent 1 week in this Hotel. It´s quite busy, on workdays and weekends as well. The services (several ones) during that time was always good. Most the staff could speak a reasonable english. The annex restaurant is very good, so it´s very convenient if you don´t want to go out.
It´s around 15min walking from 2 metro/subway stations and from then you can easily reach anywhere in Shanghai. So, from the hotel to downtown takes around 40min.
I recommend this hotel.

A not so OK hotel, in far reaching location, not too clean rooms with lots of odds, room service and house keeping not responsive at all, all the staff posted including front desk/reception are totally Non-English speaking personnel, absolutely untrained in handling the rush hour group check-in also very slow in calculating the required change at Money Exchange counter. Very poor in giving directions to international travelers if asked/inquired for near by must see destinations in Shanghai.
All these problems double when you enter tired your room for a good nite sleep and are horrified to experience a Hard Bed to support your ailing spine, giving you jitters of long haul international flights.
