“Great place near the Bund”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2012

We stayed here recently for a couple of nights at the start of our first trip to Shanghai. Great location - night time views are fab - and an easy ten minute walk to the Bund.

Our suite was enormous and gorgeous. Lovely views over to Pudong and over the Bund, and over the river with its never ending fleet of barges.

The hotel has great facilities - the pool / spa / sauna were fantastic - and the club lounge was very comfortable. There was a very wide range of choices for breakfast.

Recommend this hotel for people visiting Shanghai for the first time while they orient themselves to the city. It has the big hotel feel - one thing I never like about big hotels is that you're unable to open the windows - you can't hear outside sounds and can only breath airconditioned air. But this is a design feature of those types of hotels. All in all this Hyatt is excellent.

The hotel is very near to the Bund for tourists, and in a central location for business as well. I love its spacious lobby, and really luxurious room. I especially like the layout of the room, with bed facing the window, overlooking a fantastic scenery! The dinner experience at top floor restaurant was wonderful too: great view, delicious food and chatty staff!

Went to Shanghai with two friends for the Formula one race. Beautiful hotel! Breakfast was about $40 per person but had amazing dumplings along with much more local and international dishes. Location was amazing, just a quick walk to the bund although that area closes down at about 10pm. Beautiful bar on the top floor of the hotel with a great view!! Area is vey quiet, but a fantastic little restaurant right around the corner called Friendship bar. Cannot tell you the name of the street it is on but you have to head about two blocks to the back of the hotel and then walk towards the bund. Limited selection but very good food and reasonable prices for alcohol.

Great location and within easy walk of the Bund.

Room of reasonable size but not exactly huge. There other hotels in Shanghai that I'd prefe to stay at but Hyatt on the Bund should not be passed up if it's on your list and within your budget.

Best luxurious rooms. Well furnished. Good Decor. Spacious bath rooms; Wish they had soft fluffy towels. The breakfast was excellent. The dinner was great. Being a vegetarian, they could make some delicious food. Excellent view from the roof of the hotel. Strongly recommend.

We stayed at the Hyatt on the Bund for 3 days in June. Unfortunately it was also peak smog season and despite windows looking up the river with the best view of the city, we could barely see it due to the smog.
Well appointed rooms, spacious bathrooms and great breakfast buffet choice.
My highlight was definitely the Vue bar on the roof with a spectacular view (Shanghai is definitely a night city- the lights cut through the pollution) across the Bund - old world meets new. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: A room with a view up the Bund is a must

My first stay at this hotel - for 4 nites last week.

Checking in took me less than 5 minutes.

My room on the 23th floor has a clear view of Nanjing Road but could not see the TV Tower. Switch off the room's light at night and you have a billion dollars view of the Bund from your bed - which I did every single night.

Room is sparkling clean. Do try the Camomile and Rose Teas (in 2 different containers) in the room - as you sit back or lie in-bed and enjoy the view.

Buffet breakfast is simply great. From noodles soup to Japanese food - served to perfection.

The Chinese Kitchen on the first floor is a smaller version of the Mezzanine Hyatt Singapore - where you can watch the chefs cook your meals).

This is a highend living....no herds or busloads of noisy, pushy, loud talking tourists or jostling for the buffet line.

Not when guests like Paris Hilton, Sarkozy, Jackie Chan, Goh Chok Tong stays in this hotel (their photos displayed in the foyer)

Luxury does come at a price - normal laundry of a pants would set you back RMB 170 (US$22) !!

Enjoy !!

Room Tip: Room #1613 gives you the TV tower and The Bund view from the sofa. Room #2301 - you can view the Bu...
