Good Hotel, Near to Expo Centre and the Metro..and the shopping den. (underground shopping area at the Shanghai Science Museum Station) Rooms are defiantly big, b/fast is good, no swimming Pool, small Gym (3 cardio + 1 cross trainer and with no attendant). AC is a problem in the night when u need it the most..

Room Tip: Ask for an room with no air-conditioning hang ups....

I came to Shanghai for 2 days on a business trip (with some tourism thrown in). I didn't stay the originally planned 2 nights due to a flight delay.
The hotel was great for my purposes. The room was nice and clean. I was glad to see some American amenities in my room - hairdryer, iron, etc. It was quiet, with the exception of the hallway music that I could hear in my room, but at night I was either too tired to notice it again or they had turned it off.
My only complaint was in the bathroom. There was some minor repair/cleaning that needed to be done as some water damage (or mold/mildew?) could be seen in the shower (from the basin to the ceiling). It wasn't too bothersome, and just about the only complaint I had.
I had a hard time getting my hair appliances to plug in, but after some effort it worked. The front desk didn't have any kind of convertor either, but was helpful in trying to understand what I needed.
I took a taxi to YuYuan Garden - about 30 RMB - and spent the afternoon there. I also toured the World Financial Center. A taxi can get you anywhere worth seeing for a decent price so it wasn't a big deal to not be right in the middle of a tourist hotspot.
I did not choose to include breakfast in my room rate, but did go down to the buffet. Their spread was extensive, but the American cuisine was slightly lacking. I think their "Western" spread was more on the English side, but not having been to the UK I am unsure. I had my fill and tried some traditional breakfast items, so no major complaints there!
I didn't check out the pool or fitness center.
I'd return again.

This hotel offers quality for a decent price. The rooms are spacious, the bed is good, the internet is free. If you are on business in Pudong then this is a good deal. Wouldn't specifically recommend it for those on holiday in Shanghai because it is not very near most tourist attractions. Further, if hotel wishes to improve anything in the future then I would recommend (1) to add BBC news to the channel selection and (2) improve the shower (right now only a waterfall shower is available, but if you don't want to wash your hair then this is not handy).

Room Tip: 1. Ask company to book the hotel, the hotel sometimes has good corporate rates as I found out. 2. Ro...

I wouldn't recommand it for family trips. Eventhough close to the metro, it is too far for from everything interesting. This hotel is clean and OK for business though. Shanghai is not a great place for tourism anyway

I stayed at Parkview twice in June 2012. The first impression of the hotel is good, with a spacious and stylish lobby. The check-in process for both times were a bit cumbersome, which is often the case in China. However, I ended up being upgraded the first stay, which was nice.

The rooms are spacious, but it turned out my second stay - at a cheaper rate room - had a better room, as it was a corner room with lots of windows and a nice view in 2 directions. When walking into the rooms you get a very fresh and clean impression. The bathrooms are nice and modern, with much space and all the regular equipment.

As I arrived late one evening I ordered in room dining. I had the pizza. I was hungry so it went down OK, but I cannot unfortunately recommend it. The breakfast is good, you will find lots of Western and Chinese style of dishes, in addition to that there is much fruits and other items.

Location is good for flying in to Pudong, and taxi is no more than 100Rmb/25minutes (outside of rush hour). You are quite centrally located but you will need to use train or taxi to get around.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room as they are big and have views in 2 directions.

I am having exactly the same experience as Kopi-O. It is May 2nd, quite warm, but the hotel decided not to turn on the central A/C. It is 25 degrees in my room, and they only suggestion they had was to open up the windows (with tons of noise outside).
On the positive side, the room and the hotel are nice.
