When we visit Tuscaloosa for a day trip, we almost always schedule our lunch for Manna Grocery. It's on McFarland Blvd., and if you've never been, the deli is at the back of the store. On this visit, my wife and I split a guacamole and black bean salad, a cup of three bean soup, and my wife had an Arnold Palmer (half tea, half lemonade). The total for our meal was $13.60, and we had plenty of good, and tasty, food. There's lots of good dishes for vegetarians, and the area where you eat is always clean. You can get small samples of the different soups to help you choose. Our daughter worked at Manna back in the early 1990s when she was a student at Alabama, and she got us started going there. Great place for an inexpensive meal.
