“Best hospitality at best price!”
Reviewed 10 February 2010

We were looking to stay in a hotel or a B&B outside of the town center (to avoid noise) and after considering several options decided to book a room in Mango Valley. What a great choice. The cabin has the most amazing view and we slept like babies. The B&B is set among coffee fields and overlooks the jungle and mountains. The weather was perfect as well. We went to see the Poas volcano and toured the Doka coffee plantation.

The breakfasts in Mango Valley were the best we had in Costa Rica. We didn't want to eat again till dinner time.

The knowledgeable hosts from Canada were the most helpful. They recommended places to visit around Grecia and gave us great advice about local culture.

I was also surprised how well Internet was working. In the afternoons we were both enjoying sitting on our private balcony with laptops sipping coffee and enjoying the view. They have a Wi-Fi hot spot, so Internet connection is available everywhere. The speed was faster than we have at home!

We were very impressed by this little boutique B&B.

Vladimir and Julia run the B&B just outside of the town of Grecia. Well traveled and
knowledgeable, they were very interesting to talk to. The cabanas are new, clean and
comfortable with a great view. Julia was an exceptional host and provided transport to
the Poas volcano where we had a spectacular morning with clear skies and a great view of the volcano and good walk on the trail. Julia also took us to the Doka coffee plantation where we took a tour of the coffee been processing area. Julia and Vladimir are both fluent in English and Spanish which is critical for directions and communicating with the locals.
This B&B is very reasonably priced and a good home base to explore this area of Costa Rica.

We were planning to stay in Mango Valley hotel for our first night, but we liked it so much that we decided to stay for 2 more nights.

From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. Spotless room, beautiful view from the balcony (that we enjoyed oh so much with our pre-breakfast and afternoon coffee), very warm and friendly hosts, perfect weather, plus lots of things to do in the area made us believe that we indeed came to paradise! What a beautiful country!

If you are looking for a small, quiet and adorable place not far from the airport, yet away from the city noise, I suggest you stay in Mango Valley.

We've been visiting Costa Rica for 15 years and always spent a few first nights in Grecia. This year we stayed in Mango Valley B&B (they are new), and it became our favourite. We have already reserved a room for our next visit.

The airport pickup was free, the breakfasts were delicious, the rooms are new and spotless, the view from our cabin was simply breathtaking. The hosts are funny and very easy to talk to. I also believe they have the best prices in Grecia.
We're especially grateful for help with arranging the car rental: our car was delivered right to our door.

I highly recommend this B&B!

We stayed here during our last night in Costa Rica. The cabins were very nice and clean and the owners were very friendly. The breakfast in the morning was also very good.

Mango Valley is a nice place with great views over the coffee plantations. However, it sort of seems like this place is missing some personality (one of the reasons might be the large gravel parking lot that's right in front of the cabins).

I would recommend this place to older travellers or families that enjoy the comfort and the cleanliness of their own cabins and like the quiet setting. For younger travelers I would suggest staying in the town of Grecia instead.

If you are driving here I would suggest using the GPS coordinates on their website (I would strongly recommend getting a GPS if you are renting a car).

This Inn is awesome-Cabins, Breakfast, Owners, Hot Water, Nicest towels we had in C.R., comfie bed, TV, frig stocked w/ some drinks like soda, etc., awesome breakfast and conversation! , it's quiet, private, affordable, smells good, especially in the early morning with the scent of coffee beans to the beauty of a mango sunrise, free parking, great restaurant in San Miguel (ask Vlad for directions) it's called Brisas Del Monte, open Fri.Sat.Sun.11am to 11pm...
great location....arriva, arriva-up-up-to the top of the hill-and you'll find the Mango Valley sign on the ranch gate...on the left-side of the street...be firm on your map and directions before entering this area, you won't want to get turned around!-Once here, it's very pleasant and we will be back again next year....God Bless You-and your new addition!!!
Don't hesitate to come to this B&B if you like "off the beaten track travel"

We stayed at this B&B on our first night in Costa Rica. It was very nice. The cabins are new, nicely appointed with tv, kitcheonette, private bathroom with hot shower. Owners are very welcoming and eager to help with any information. Nice breakfast. The location is up on the mountain and the views are fantastic. Use website directions to get there, or if you rent a gps enter their exact location (provided on the website) and let gps take you there. Good location to explore Poas Volcano, La Paz waterfall and other places in the area.
