“Very nice!”
Reviewed 26 March 2014

Just got back from a visit to Costa Rica. Hotel Royal Corin is very nice! I would definitely stay there again. We stayed in a king suite and it is worth it! The pool area is very nice as well. All staff is very helpful.

We had a 4 day stay in Hotel Royal Corin and we are very happy with our choice. Room was large, well designed and very comfortable. Bathroom was very modern. In addition we had an amazing view to the Arenal vulcano from our balcony.
Service at the hotel was always very nice and helpful. We also remain very happy with our breakfast. It could be more varied, but it is not a must.
Finally the pool area with the pool bar are awesome, if you look for relaxing.

We will definitely recommend Hotel Royal Corin.

We had a great stay at Royal Corin. The rooms were great and the staff was very helpful. The only hangup was that our room was not ready at 2 pm at check in time and we had to wait a little bit, but the room was definitely worth it. Be sure to try a pina colada at the wet bar! Best pina coladas we've ever had.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies facing the volcano are beautiful!

Pros: All rooms appear to have great volcano views and balconies. Our room was comfortably large, very clean, and had an ultra-modern bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and A/C was quiet.

Cons: Charmless, "international style" modern building with an uninviting lobby. Miserable buffet-style breakfast which never varied over the course of our 4-day stay. Two mediocre lunches ensured that we went outside every night for dinner, a US$15 round trip to/from town. Grounds and landscaping were minimal. The pools dominated the outdoor area; there was no significant garden or natural shade option.

We booked only one of our activities through the hotel - a nocturnal rainforest walk. This was $71 or $74 each (can't remember exactly) for a roughly 2-hour private guided tour in an eco-reserve. The guide was knowlegable and enthusiastic, and we got great frog photos, but the tour was over-priced. I don't know if this was due to the hotel's mark-up or not, but regardless, I think they should consider negotiating couples/family rates for this activity.

Neutral: Geothermal pools were 102 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit. This was nice for a while, but a cooler temperature option would have been welcome.

Dear Guest:

We regret that our hotel has not fully complied with your expectations as if it has done with the majority of our customers. Our hotel was designed to provide first-class facilities for the client seeking comfort surrounded by nature, we understand that for other people this is not the idea and don't feel comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't have any comment from you during your stay, in this way we would have tried to make your stay more pleasant.

Great hotel, wonderful service, nice views of the volcano, beautiful hot springs pools, with swim up bar. Staff was great - restaurant on property has wonderful food as well - we had dinner there both nights of our stay - lots of yummy choices on the menu. Breakfast was included and had a good buffet - gallo pinto, lots of fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, cereal, yogurt. Spa is also very nice, very clean - and again, great service. Overall great experience and would return to this hotel!

Room Tip: We had a king suite, one of the ones in the center - views of the pool and volcano are outstanding

My family really enjoyed the numerous iguanas that come out daily to be fed by an employee. Great service, very polite and prompt. Excellent breakfast as well. Very nice hotel for those who want a luxurious and tranquil atmosphere.

This was our second stop while visiting Costa Rica for the first time. The hotel is very nice , well kept and the staff was helpful and accommodating. Great view of the Arenal Volcano and close to other rain forest adventures. (hiking, biking, zip lining, horseback riding and quad running) Smaller property, but well appointed. Restaurant was convenient and the food delicious. Looking forward to another visit, soon.
