Villa Hermosa is a beautiful property and it is very obvious the owners take great pride in their creation. Nothing is missing in this villa. The grounds are landscaped and maintained meticulously. There are so many beautiful plants and flowers it was hard to stop taking pictures. Although we didn't use the pool it is very nice and private and had we had more time we would have loved to just hang out and have a pool day. The outdoor living area is awesome and great during the rain storms, completely protected. The rancho with hammocks is fantastic and very nice at night. There are candles that can be lit which makes for a very romantic and relaxing getaway just steps from the villa but because the vegetation is so thick you would never know it. The vegetation also makes the villa and pool very private, you can get lost in the paths that wind around the property.
The interior of the villa is spotless and very well furnished and decorated. The bathroom is very nice and the shower is huge. This villa is almost too nice to be a rental.
The breakfast every morning was delicious and perfect to start our day. Wendy and Robert make every effort to make sure your day gets off to a good start. Wendy was also very helpful with planning our activities, we didn't have to worry about a thing. I told her what we wanted to do and she booked everything. She also had great recommendations for us. She was very helpful.
There are many birds at Villa Hermosa also. We watched several green parrots or parakeets feasting on a bunch of bananas right in front of the villa as well as beautiful butterflies.
Wendy's dogs are also very friendly and a nice treat to have around since we were missing our four legged babies back home. Wendy takes great care to make sure the dogs are not a bother which for us, they were an absolute joy.
The drive to Villa Hermosa is beautiful and enjoyable on a country lane with great scenery. It is very easy to find on a well maintained road.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
We LOVED staying at Villa Hermosa with our 3 children, ages 5, 7 and 9, as we explored the area in and around La Fortuna. You get two for one here- a great place to stay (lots of space for the kids to explore and swim!) and the best part is that Wendy knows SO much about the Arenal area so you get your own personal trip advisor!
We were so grateful for her suggestions about the best places to take our kids that when we went on to our next destination, we missed her advice!
She had our coffee ready for us each morning, the food was great, and the place was really clean. We also liked that it was on a back road (yes, it was bumpy but so are the rest of the roads in Costa Rica!), so it wasn't near the busy town and it wasn't touristy. We had a little Honda Elantra and it was fine..no need for the 4 wheel drive. We felt completely safe there. My son and I walked to the little store not far down the road from Villa Hermosa and met some of her neighbors along the way (gotta speak Spanish if you want to talk to them, though!) If we ever went back to Costa Rica, we would without a doubt stay here again!
It was an absolute pleasure to have you and your beautiful family stay with us! Living here is a dream come true and I'm always happy to help people make the most of their vacation in paradise! Hope to see you again in Costa Rica....Pura Vida! :-)
