Gorgeous grounds, amazing view of Arenal, very nice owners. Cabins are basic, clean. Not all have A/C contrary to what one reviewer said. Felt like camping in the middle of the jungle. There was a huge lizard which the son chased into the roof, so I moved to another cabin. Needed to stuff towels under the gap at the base of the door. Failed to do that the last night and had a scary looking spider-like creature come in. Spotty wi- fi, need 4x4, but I liked that about it-very out of the way, and relaxing. Wish I'd had to time to check out the hiking trail. Very close to Fortuna Falls and the company I used for zipline (Ecoglide, who i also liked) so I really enjoyed the location. Also would have liked washcloths and warm water from the bathroom sink. Not the speediest response to email, and some knowledge of Spanish is recommended.

We really loved this place. The cabins were very comfortable and spacious. The grounds were beautifully landscaped. The location at the base of the Arenal Volcano was quite awe inspiring (and though it was often cloud-covered, we had several great views of it even in the "Green Season"). Although quite close to the city, it felt private and secluded. There are only four cabins on the property. It was a great home base for exploring the area. The owners were lovely people. The cabin was cleaned everyday and breakfasts were very good. No complaints. It was helpful that we spoke some Spanish and that we had our own vehicle, but such a nice place I wouldn't let a lack of either keep you from staying there. It was a joy to return there at the end of each of the three days that we spent and we were sad to leave.

The lodge is a little out of town. This makes it far quieter, but does require taxis/car/cooler walking weather than we had. The duplex cabins are very nice, and the gardens teeming with wildlife.

The owner speaks no English and her son's is rudimentary so those with as equally a poor grasp of Spanish as I have may some entertaining conversations.

This place was exceptional. The cabinas are at the base of the volcano and a $8 taxi ride away from the hot springs. We hiked to and from town and we hiked from the hotel to cerro chato. Neither were short walks, but they added to the adventure for us. Parrots and tucans filled the most beautiful tropical garden I have ever seen. These family owned cabinas are a gem for anyone looking for a truly authentic experience.

we slept here at our arrival in Costa Rica and waking up for the first time so close to the forest was priceless. the place is quiet and perfect to enjoy the view of the volcano and the surrounding lush nature. Our bungalow was bigger than we thought, clean and comfortable; the bathroom was huge. the garden is fantastic, there even is a short, well kept path that goes deep into the forest. the owners were very nice from arrival to departure! breakfast was delicious, with lots of fresh fruits in addiction to coffee and toasts. the only (very small) downside is that it was usually served relatively late, considering that many hikes start very early, but if you ask they are very helpful: the second day the lady made us some good and rich sandwiches in advance so that we could leave at dawn without being hungry.
Brisas Arenal is a beautiful place if you like sleeping in the nature with all the comforts of a good clean bed. Highly recommended especially if you have your own car. Can be a little tricky to find but if you have a good map there is no problem at all.

Good value for money, big bungalow with a small fridge, just the closet was very small. So we left our clothes in the suitcases, but it was no problem for us. We loved the location, it is just at the foot of the Arenal volcano, outside the city. It is a great place to relax and to enjoy the nature. There is abig and very nice garden full of birds, which we could observe from the hammock at our bungalow. Very relaxing. Friendly host.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Location is a bit remote, but by car only 5 minutes to downtown city centre. The remote location is exactly what we wanted, as la fortuna is quite touristic. The bungalow is spacious, ours (nr 3) had 2 queen beds and a bunk bed. Beds are nice! The bungalow is surrounded by a big garden, in which a lot of birds fly around, really nice view if you're laying in the hammock in front of the bungalow! Do keep in mind that these same birds will wake you at 6am in the morning, but you want to be in the middle of nature or not! Bungalow looks out at arenal volcano. Owners are very nice, excellent service. Wifi wasn't working with our iPad/iPhone, but we could use the laptop of the owner. And we got a plate of fresh fruit in the morning, eventhough we made ourn own breakfast . Shower is nice and provided warm water :)
