We stayed with their sister company in monteverde an they give you a promo price if you do make this reservation thro them.
We were greeted right away and we were given the room that was recommended to us bec it is quieter there.
We were in LaFortuna during the earthquake so its aplus its still standing when we got back from the hot springs.

(-)
Water doesnt get as hot as you want though. And theres a funny smell in the kitchen but thats it.
(+)
Theres pcs you use and wifi reaches your room.
We were happy for the cabled tv.
Bfast is nice.
Near restaurants and souvenier shops.
And so far one of the cheapest laundry service we have encountered in our trip in central america

The name says it all. Cheap, adequate accommodations. Okay breakfast. The hostel next door was noisy.

They also arranged an excursion that included a guided hike in Arenal Volcano NP, dinner and an evening at Baldi Hot Springs for $50 a person (we had 17 people), which was perfect. First, if you have priced these separately, you know this is a good price. We were unavoidably delayed, but they were flexible with our start time and the guide even turned it into a partial night walk.

For $20/night we had a basic private room, we were received by a friendly host that gave us free breakfast the next morning. The location is near a major intersection in La Fortuna, and the room is far from sound proof. Unless you're a very heavy sleeper expect to be woken up by trucks, motorcycles, and roosters at all hours of the night and I don't wanna speak much of the noise of the people downstair that night, after a relaxing time that we had at the Baldi thermal station. A decent place, if you have ear plug!

It is one of our best decisions of the trip to stay at this hostal. Ronny was very helpful even before we arrived. I have been comparing the price of the tours extensively before our trip to Costa Rica, and none of the options I found beat the price that Ronny offered. I believe he sacrifice some of the profits he can make for the people who stay at his hostal. The hostal was clean and comfortable. Best bed of our trip to Costa Rica. The hot water was unfortunately not working when we arrived late the first night. But Ronny did everything he could to help us. He let us use the shower in the other rooms, and switch us to another room the next day as soon as it is available. I will stay here if I come to La Fortuna again.

After arriving in a group to La Foruna from Monteverde a lot of the travellers headed for Gringo Petes, but we liked the sound of Sleeper´s. Our first night wan´t that great - the local church band across the road seemed to be practising the same song over and over. But it was probably the heavy rain that spoiled the day more than anything.
However, we ended up loving this cheap and secure hostel and stayed at least 3 more day than we originally intended. Owner Mauricio was happy, helpful and chatty; helping us book both the Arena and rafting tours at really short notice. He also hired us 2 of his brand new mountain bikes and gave us directions to the local hot springs.
The wifi was good, the free breakfast was really nice, and the private room with cable tv was a treat when the La Fortuna downpours kicked in.
Big thanks to Mauricio!

We arrived in Arenal a day earlier than expected so didn't have our accommodations booked. Our hostel in Tamarindo arranged for us to stay with Mauricio at Sleepers. For $25 a night for a private room, it was a great value. It's just off the main road of La Fortuna, in the southwest end of the town. It looks and feels more like a small motel, and less of a social hostel. Our room was simple, with a double bed, a bunk bed, private bathroom and a fan (no AC). There were some ants crawling around the bathroom but we weren't too fussed about it. Everything else was clearn. The room rate includes a nice breakfast with fruit, cereal and milk, toast and eggs. Plus, Mauricio was very helpful in answering our questions about La Fortuna and giving us information on tours (without being pushy).

Room Tip: The room described in the review was #207.
