“and I'm not a coffee drinker”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

this place is the perfect place to get your java fix if your craving one. I had a few lunches here as well which satisfied. The breakfast here also knocks anything you will get at your hotel in town as well.

Had a few coffee drinks w ice cream and whatever else kinda evil that ups the calorie intake and they didn't disappoint.

Service was great and the various servers I came across could bridge the gap of my Spanglish attempt to communicate.

“Best Breakfast in La Fortuna”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Seriously, the best breakfast we encountered. Ate here 3 out of 6 mornings...Costa Rican breakfast with home-brewed coffee.

“Casual, local restaurant, good for the budget traveler”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Not the well-known chain, this was a pleasant cafe with an atmosphere halfway between a fast food establishment and a sit-down restaurant. Less expensive than other restaurants in the area, the food was just as good. We had the "typical plate" advertised in many Costa Rican restaurants, with fried plantain, beans, and other traditional fare. The portions were mid-sized by US standards but tasty and satisfying.

“The coffee is really good, the food is ok.”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

I was expecting a little more after reading the reviews. I went there for breakfast and the food was mediocre in all sincerity; most of the hotels offering free breakfast were better or similar... That being said, the coffee was excellent (hence the rating of 4 instead of 3). The prices are quite reasonable relative to other touristy options in the area. I'd go back to get a coffee and pastry.

“Coffee, breakfast...this is the place!”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

We had all our breakfasts here while in La Fortuna. My son loved the pancakes. I loved the small tropical fruit bowl with granola and yogurt. The fruits were chopped in small cubes. The coffee is the best you'll ever have (cafe con leche). The cream is steamed in shapes like a leaf or heart, and then cafe or your name is written in chocolate syrup on top. We took pictures of the coffee it was so pretty. WiFi was working there too. Wait staff was very attentive.
