We spent two nights here as part of a tour around Costa Rica. The lodge we stayed in was basic but beautiful with a fantastic view of the Volcano from our private terrace. The staff were extremely helpful and happy to help.

The restaurant on site offered food of a good standard and breakfast was delightful.

The on site pool was very relaxing with its large adjacent jacuzzi. With a view of the volcano and lush green rainforest this was one of the best set of sun loungers we have experienced.

We stayed at bungalow 514 and loved it. It was clean and quite and couldn't get any closer to the volcano. It is on a steep hill so if you have problems walking this might not be your bungalow. ..they many different ones throughout the property that are closer. They have a trail that goes up into the smaller volcanoe which was a great start to your morning. Didn't matter where you were you had a view of the volcano. Breakfast had a variety: pancakes, corn flakes, fresh fruit, omelet bar plus traditional food. We walked to Baldi Hot Springs and that was kinda long but walking In to town was easy. I would recommend and hopefully return.

We initially made a reservation for 1 night and were so impressed that we decided to stay another night. We drove from Jaco Beach over and though the mountains taking close to 4 hours. The drive was very nice and we saw how beautiful and clean Costa Rica is. We arrived at the hotel around noon and they immediately gave us the room key despite check-in was at 3. The room was an individual little house (each room was a little house) in the foothills of the mountains. The grounds were amazing with an assorted of tropical plants and birds. While we live in Colombia it is slightly different here and was a little piece of heaven. The WiFi worked excellent and the TV had all the channels including US networks CBS and ABC (Tico Cable – which is the national provider). We paid 99 US the first night and 101 the second including taxes and like all hotels in Latin America, breakfast was a buffet and included. The coffee was organic and the best coffee we had in Costa Rica. We would return in a flash.

We stayed here for two nights during our trip to Costa Rica. I so appreciate the comments from others because they were spot on. The cabins were spacious and ours had an unobstructed view of the volcano. Also sitting on the back porch in the morning we saw so many birds. The grounds were just beautiful. Breakfast buffet was good. I would definitely recommend Hotel Lomas del Volcan to any visiting the area.

Room Tip: Room 503 has a direct view of the volcano.

Oh my, I cannot begin to explain what a lovely surprise this hotel was for us. We had traveled Costa Rica for hours the day we drove into Fortuna. We were tired, kids were cranky, and everyone was hungry and done with the little 4 wheeler. I finally see the signs for Lomas del Volcan's entrance, and it looked a bit off putting. Then we drove along another dirt road up to higher elevation. I, as the booker of all vacations stays, was getting worried that I had really goofed. I almost told my husband to turn around.

And then we drove up on this gathering of stunning cabanas in the shadow of the mountain, surrounded by forest. The cabanas looked stunning -- dark hardwood with white cotton bedding, large private patios with direct view of the volcano. Flowers everywhere. I really felt I had been transported to Hawaii. It was incredible.

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the stay immensely. The food in the restaurant is very good. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

We stayed at these lovely cabins for two nights while on a tour of Costa Rica. As other reviewers have noted, the cabins were spacious, clean and in a beautiful setting. We especially enjoyed the porch and landscaping around the cabin as well as the beautiful birds nesting in the nearby trees. Although we had rain during most of our Tay, the cabins were still cozy and scenic. Would definitely recommend staying here when visiting the Arenal area.

Cabins were spacious and very well maintained. Gardens were exquisite. Nice location - away from the traffic, but near enough to go into town. Food was just so-so, with the breakfast containing acceptable variety. Go into town for the bakeries and local dinner options.
