“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014 via mobile

I really wanted to give a positive review but my room was awful dark with no view to speak of.But the worse issue was that I have never stayed in a place with such thin walls you could hear everything and I mean everything. The breakfast was good and the lodge itself is ideally situated.

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for taking your time and giving us your feedback.

We currently work in soundproofing and refurbishment of our rooms.

The sound travels through the ceiling, and not through the walls, and we are currently working on it.

We deeply regret, have caused you such inconvenience.

Nice enough. Fairly standard hotel room with two double beds. Small pool and a terraced sets of small pools heated geothermally. Good lunch at the restaurant. Always out of eggs at breakfast. Good location mid-way between town and the volcano

We stayed here for a couple of nights as part of an escorted tour which kept us out of the hotel for most of the time so I am unable to comment on the quality of the meals or many of the facilities. The hotel did not endear itself to us by tagging us with wrist bands upon arrival, even though we would only be taking a couple of rushed breakfasts during our stay. The accommodation seems spread out like a motel, with parking spaces in front of each block of rooms. We were a fairly lengthy walk from reception in one direction and the restaurant area in the other. However, the room was comfy and well-equipped, and provided a good night's sleep, I was woken at dawn by the sound of rain drilling onto the roof, and our neighbour's early morning conversations (there is little soundproofing). Breakfast did not open until 07.00 so I took a peaceful stroll around the luxuriant grounds. Our room opened onto a terrace with direct access to the lawns and a nature trail around a small lake packed with carp beside a river with a waterfall. During that hour I saw many different birds, enjoyed beautiful plant life and could hear howler monkeys in the distant trees. There was, potentially, a good view of the volcano but unfortunately it remained shrouded in clouds throughout our stay. A brief visit to the nearby town of La Fortuna revealed attractive public gardens and church, and an amazing tree full of iguanas by the river. Back in our room at the end of our day of river rafting and hot springs, we encountered the most magnificent piece of towel art I have ever seen on all my worldly travels! I wish we had had more time to explore the hotel and enjoy the facilities.

Such a great place to spend time in the Arenal/la Fortuna area. Beautiful view from our room, plenty of parking, and both their service and breakfast were amazing.

We stayed in 3 different places in Costs Arica and this was our favorite. :)

What a wonderful lodge to stay in. I was there for 3 nights and 4 days. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and had variety, dinner was very tasty. This lodge restaurant is worth going to.

The Volcano Lodge
My room was so nice, spacious with an outdoor private veranda enclosed by huge plants. And the view was spectacular. Just sitting on the veranda looking at the volcano was mesmerizing. Perfect view.

In addition, the hot springs were so relaxing after a dip in the nice clean pool.

Room Tip: A great place. Take in the Springs send Dinner.
