Just returned from a 3 night stay at Arenal Springs. The property is absolutely beautiful and the food was very good, better than we expected. The location is a bit remote so food options outside of hotel are limited but the property has enough options. The hot spring pools are amazing. It rained the entire time we were there but we still enjoyed them. Rooms were spacious and clean. Just keep in mind that you are in Central America, we did have a few bugs (ants, spiders) in the room but we expected that in the rainforest, not a big deal. We had a private transfer from Liberia and it took us 3 hours to get there. Would recommend a transfer because the roads aren't marked very well, it would have taken us forever. I would definitely recommend and would stay again. May have to since we never got a chance to see the volcano because of the rain!

We stayed here for the first 2 nights on our trip to Costa Rica. It is an easy 2.5 hour drive from the airport in San Jose on paved smooth roads. The landscaping here is beautiful, many flowering (I don't think native) plants. The rooms are set up in mini bungalows, 2 rooms to a building. The shower is different, it is open on the top allowing rain (and bugs) in like a waterfall to water the plants. Only negative I had was a shortage of hot water. The minibar is stock with coffee, beer, cokes, waters that is included in the price of the room, so enjoy. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant was probably the best on our trip, large selection and fresh omelets, waffles and tortillas. The pools are nice with a cold fresh water pool and a naturally heated pool with waterfalls. If you plan a trip to the Arenal area, I recommend this place

One of the most exquisite places I have ever had the pleasure to visit. The grounds are gorgeous overflowing with flowers, natural fruit trees, indigenous plants and a huge variety of birds (especially cool are the scarlet macaws and hummingbirds) and butterflies. All cabins have a full view of the volcano, but be prepared to not see the top as it is often obscured by clouds. The mineral baths are incredibly soothing, healing to the skin and there are several temperatures to choose from. The wet bar, which is also mineral spring water, is a really fun place to meet fellow travelers from all over the world and swap stories. The staff were delightful. The eco-consciousness was all pervasive - everything is designed to be kind and protective to the environment. There are communal umbrella stands throughout so if you ever get caught in the rain you can grab one to stay dry and then drop it off in another stand whenever you don't need it anymore. The grounds are large and you may get a cabin far from the amenities so be ready to walk, which is sheer pleasure with lots of photo opportunities. They have electric golf carts to pick up folks who for whatever reason cannot or do not want to walk. We picked star fruit right off our porch and hummingbirds are everywhere. A slice of heaven.

Room Tip: I suggest a cabin farther from the amenities because it feels lovely to stretch the legs, wander and...

Being from the south, one of our favorite things to do is sit on our porches, and drink tea. The porches at this hotel were one of the best, and the amazing view of the volcano, from the mist lifting off the volcano in the morning, to the sun setting behind it in the evening. It was perfect!
The rooms here were amazing, you were close to others, but you didn't feel like you were crowded, and you didn't really have anyone bother you. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the room was just wonderful. There were beautiful local pictures, flowers, and decorations that welcomed you into this beautiful room.
Truthfully we spent most of our time out on the porch watching the birds and the views, but the room was great!
This property has so much to offer! It has a great breakfast in the morning, with all kinds of options from fruit, to gallo pinto, to different breads and meats. We really enjoyed our waiters and they helped me practice my Spanish, which I appreciated greatly! They were always so friendly, and even though we were only there a few days, they still knew me each time I walked up to the office or the eating area. They had many different pools, from heated pools, to cold pools and they were easy to switch from one to the other, and they were all very natural.

We loved staying here! While we were here we got to hike to the volcano and the lake, horseback rode to a waterfall, went to the hot springs, etc. I wish we would have had more time to enjoy the amenities of the hotel! You MUST make a trip into La Fortuna, because we went to a little local restaurant (recommended by a guide) which served the most incredible Sea Bass, loved it!

Overall this was an amazing place to spend your time in Arenal.

Room Tip: I would get a room closer to the main part oft he hotel because you get a better view, and you can a...

The country is so beautiful and the motel has some of the grandest views. You need to make sure your motel has good food because the area is limited and this place has very good cuisine. You can easily get to all the attractions in the area

We stayed here 2 nights with our 2 year old. The room was very nice. We spent very little time there. The hot ssprings pool is great. The main pool is pretty warm but still okay for our daughter. That pool has a swim up bar! and you can order food there too. The food isn't amazing, but its not bad either. The resort is a little out of town, so you will need taxis or a rental car to get to town.

Room Tip: the wifi isn't the best. But that's not much of a complaint :)

Last week in June, very beautiful but also very rainy! Very lush and green but resort prices are very expensive as is everything in Arenal. I bought two six packs of beer, chips, tomato juice, fruit I kid you not it was $50. Crazy! We went on the hanging bridges tour and found it much less expensive to go in a taxi rather than book it through the front desk. Ifi had to do it again I would stay at Westin playa conchal and take an excursion from there to rainforest. Much more comfortable and all meals drinks etc included.
