We LOVED this hotel. We've stayed at many expensive 5-star resorts in our many travels, but this place has more charm, character and great service than any of those fancy overpriced places. Simple but beautiful. The only negative is the huge, ugly, out-of-place Mega-Resort they built right next door (the Royal Corin) that steals part of the view of El Silencio.
The hot spring on the premise is secluded and a peaceful oasis- it is the definition of tranquility. (Small, but perfect for an hour before bedtime or before dinner). Everything is clean, the food was unexpectedly great- the best dinner of our trip was the tilapia and their casados were good too- and the service throughout the hotel was excellent. The grounds were wonderful and the volcano view was very nice. We appreciated their cheap rates for calling the US- just 20 cents/minute- so we could call and check in our kids. We also appreciated their complementary facial in the gorgeous spa, which they say they gave us for staying 3 nights.
This place has the vibe of a really nice retreat center. Pura Vida!
