The hotel is set in a resort-like setting, with rooms spread over the grounds, with a great view of the volcano. Each room as a personal pool or a bathtub with whirlpool jets. The hotel pool looks small, but is surprisingly adequate and never felt crowded. The warm water pool is fantastic and you feel like you could sit in there all day. The bathrooms are impressive with the large size and waterfall shower, but not very practical - very little counter space, not enough places to hang or place things, especially given the cavernous size of the bathroom. The toilet seemed like an early model of the low flush toilets - that is, it doesn't flush great. Great skylight for natural light in the bathroom, but the rest of the room was pretty dingily lit. No refrigerator as advertised on some websites (but looks like they did use to have refrigerators). That would have been a nice amenity. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes from town so each trip in is a $10 ride, although the hotel does offer a complimentary shuttle, though not at the most convenient times. The breakfast buffet was adequate as long as you're not expecting a typical American breakfast (we personally enjoyed what was offered). Friendly staff. For our purposes, the hotel worked well enough.
