“Breathtaking”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

This place is worth the trip. The view was amazing. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the clouds to go away, but when they did. . . WOW!

“Cloudy but good adventure”
Reviewed 28 June 2014 via mobile

Just came in from this site and although I didn't get a chance to see the volcano because it was super cloudy, the experience was still a good one. It gets very cold so please take a sweater with you. After leaving the volcano site I trekked to the lake which was also cloudy but I got a slight glimpse of the lake for about 10 seconds. Go at about 10am...the clouds may clear by then, hopefully.

“Gaze into the Cauldron”

Easy double paved walkway to the top, surrounded by giant "poor man's umbrella's". Large viewing area of both craters. Additional moderately challenging walk to lagoon up paved steps covered by a canopy of rainforest trees, ferns and twisted moss covered vines.

“Weather here is unpredictable so be patient”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

We went in the afternoon and it was foggy so we couldn't see the crater, we proceeded to the lagoon and the fog was there too, but lifted long enough for us to snap some pictures, then returned. It was beautiful while it lasted. Ive heard that an am visit is better for visibility. Easy walk, no wildlife seen at all. Bring a sweater, it gets chili there.

“Amazing view, once the clouds cleared.”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

When we arrived it was really cloudy and could not see the crater. Our tour guide assured us that the clouds would clear and recommended we take the trail up to the Botos Lagoon (This is a definite must the view is spectacular). When we came back The clouds had cleared and the view was incredible. Pictures just do not do justice to this place. Even the walk up to the crater is very beautiful with lots of vegetation and birds. Definitely take comfortable shoes because it is quite a walk up there, it can also get pretty chilly so make sure to layer up.
