The view of the volcano is amazing from this location. You have views of the volcano from every spot in the hotel. The hot sprigs and pools were very fun. I loved the swim up bar but the drinks were OK. We ate in the fancy restaurant one night which was delicious and breakfast was also very good. Lots of choices. Lunch and dinner at the regular restaurant was good but over priced. The rooms were wonderful. We stayed in a family suite and our kids got a room just up for ours and it had two full baths. It was 2 mikes down a windy dirt road so it was hard to get away for daily excursions. However, they do have a wildlife sanctuary and kayaking and other recreational activities on site. But you have to take a shuttle to get to them. We did see toucans flying right off our balcony.

Exceeded my expectations. Worth a trip to Costa Rica just to stay at this hotel. Our room had a great view of the volcano and a large patio/porch to sit on. Could have spent the entire vacation right there or in one of the many pools. Rooms are very spacious and decorated beautifully. Views are unbelievable!! The restaurants were just okay. Breakfast was the best of all. Staff were all very polite and helpful. The property has multiple levels and could be difficult for some guest with disabilities. Lots of walking involved but the hotel will transport you via golf carts.

From the moment that we arrived, until our departure, the service at The Springs was off the hook! The property is beyond beautiful and the hot springs were a great way to relax after a day full of activity. The only downside to this hotel is the long bumpy road to get to it...you would never believe what lies at the end of the road!

I went with three friends. We had a great time. The place itself is amazing. It was well thought out. Most importantly, the staff is the best of the best. They went out of their way to be helpful even before we got there. Two of us shared a room with a pull out bed. I slept on the pull out. It was so comfortable that I did not notice. A real mattress had been substituted. Otherwise, all of what has been said previously about the rooms are true. Once we got there, everyone did everything that they could. We got to know many of the staff and they all knew who we were. We even met the owner, Lee Banks. He could not have been friendlier. He sat down and spent time with us. And he did not even know that a family friend of mine knows him very well. BTW, I never mentioned it to anyone there so it was not as if we got special treatment.
They took care of all of our reservations for outside trips. The company that they use is great. Two of us actually had a customized hike up the volcano with a licensed guide and driver.
The pools are all fabricated but they did a wonderful job creating a "natural" environment. There were all different pools both chlorinated and hot mineral springs in three different locations. Some of them have amazing waterfalls which are better than a back massage.
The managers and desk staff were especially helpful and understanding of some of our unfortunate circumstances. A fifth woman, who only of one of us knows, came along on our trip. We had not met her prior to the trip. In fact, she was only supposed to stay at the same places and drive with us from place to place. Instead, she caused so much trouble throughout the entire trip. But in particular she was the worst at the Springs. She fell of her own doing but spent 3 days expecting special services including EMT, doctor and unnecessary drugs that both the EMTs and the doctor did not want to prescribe. AND she expected that the Springs pay for the drugs AND her entire stay plus other comps. All I can say is that the three of us who did know her made the desk staff know how badly we felt but also that we had nothing to do with her. Regarding this horrible person, despite her attitude, they all tried very hard to make her stay comfortable. And just to let everyone at the Springs know, she is the type of person who finds ways to get upgrades and comps for free. She was not really hurt by the fall of which was her own fault.
The one change that I recommend is to upgrade the food. Breakfast is a buffet that was good. I can recommend the salads. It was quite surprising that the food for the most part was not good. And it took a long time for the food to arrive. I had chicharones that were so dried out that they were inedible. And the sushi was not edible except for the salmon skin rolls.

Thank you to all at the springs for a wonderful stay. We hope to return.

My husband and I spent three nights here for our honeymoon. We stayed in a honeymoon vista with a jacuzzi on the balcony. The entire resort is gorgeous, and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the hot springs they have on site. There are beautiful views of the volcano and surrounding mountains practically everywhere on the resort. The staff were all extremely friendly and attentive to us. We ate at the sushi restaurant once during our visit and it was delicious! This was the only time we ate at the resort, but I'm sure the other restaurants were also good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort and were sad to have to leave! We would definitely return in the future.
