We stayed in a hotel up the road from the Spa and spent an afternoon dipping in all of the wonderful heated pools. The staff was great and the service was excellent. The are many different pools to choose from, some hotter and some not so hot. The best part is that you are allowed to take beverages into the pools with you so you can stay hydrated... including beer - NEVER happen in the states. If you are looking for some comfort and a really neat jungle spot, this is it!

My boyfriend and I stayed there for 3 nights last week and it was paradise. The springs were relaxing and plentiful. We had a great time going down the slide and tubing in club rio. The room was perfect and great for a romantic getaway. The view of the volcano was picture perfect. The staff was excellent. Allan was our hotel guide when we checked in and he was so helpful. We enjoyed meeting Jay and Jamie at the "guest night" happy hour. This hotel may seem pricey but it was worth it. The resort is so spacious you always felt like you could be completely alone if you wanted to. I wouldn't stay anywhere else and we will definitely go back. Oh and don't miss breakfast! Tasty!!!

The Springs was amazing and completely lived up to the reviews. It combined luxury with fun and adventure, which was perfect for traveling with our two kids, 8 and 10. The service was truly exceptional-- everyone was so genuine. The other hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica also had great service, but nowhere near as warm and friendly as The Springs. The main building is enormous and absolutely gorgeous, with a stunning view. The pools were incredible-- the regular pool is directly next to the hot springs pools, which I enjoyed way more than I thought I would. We stayed in a two bedroom junior suite with the most incredible picture window view of Arenal. The decor was gorgeous, truly luxurious. We knew it would be nice but we had no idea it would be this gorgeous. It is a trek from La Fortuna, so we ate all our meals at the hotel, and booked all our excursions through them. This was fine by me-- I didn't want to leave, and the convenience of booking the outings was great. There is a 5 minute shuttle down to Club Rio, their onsite adventure park thing where you can do tubing, horseback riding, and visit the wildlife sanctuary, which the kids loved. It was a great three nights and we didn't want to leave.

Room Tip: The two bedroom junior suite had a great view and two twin beds for the kids, plus two giant bathrooms and a balcony with hammocks.

Stayed here for 3 nights in April and then moved to the Pacific Coast. The view and hot springs are as beautiful as they look in pictures, even if you don't have a completely clear day.

We did the zip lining and hanging bridges through the resort which were equally amazing. I would recommend if you rented a car (like we did) to just drive there yourself instead of booking it as an excursion. We also stayed in a honeymoon suite which was great although with the amount of hot springs on the resort not completely necessary. I absolutely loved Fortuna and recommend having dinner and a night out in Town, very safe and great to be in town instead of on the resort at night. Easy drive from San Jose, not as challenging as people make it seem. Service was excellent and food was good as well. Recommend eating at the Windows one night, everything we are there was exceptional. We had a hard time choosing between here and Tabacon, we are happy with our choice but met other couples who loved Tabacon so will have to go back to see which is better!

Definitely one of the most beautiful resorts I have ever had the opportunity to enjoy! The Family Suite was perfect for our family with 2 teen-agers - plenty of room and 2 bathrooms. While it could use a few more options for dining in the evening, the attention to detail and customer service more than makes up for this. We had a group of 8 people and the final evening we tried to get reservations in Ventana. It was booked, but when we were seated in Tres Cascadas, we were provided with menus from both restaurants and told we could order from whichever menu we preferred! It left us feeling great about the resort and provided a wonderful last night to a great vacation!

Room Tip: If you think you might want to dine at Ventanas, the fine dining restaurant, make your reservations early!
