“Great place to spend a few days - very luxurious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2013

I loved this resort and would have loved it more if we had actually been able to get a room. Instead, we spent two days there with the day pass and went tubing, kayaking and got to see the wild cat preserve with monkeys and toucans. There was plenty to do there and even when it was raining, the kids enjoyed the monkey slide and playing in the hot springs. The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was very good. The food at Las Ventanas restaurant was excellent, as was the service. Nothing was crowded, everyone was so friendly. My only warning is that the red minerals in the natural hot springs will stain your bathing suit.

“Luxurious Springs”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 February 2013

Went here for the day and returned for the 2nd day of the pass. Well-maintained hot springs with lots of pools so you're not crowded in next to strangers. The teenagers (and grandparents) in our group loved the slide and even our 2 1/2 yr old enjoyed the pools. For those not into the hot springs, the bar had a good selection of cocktails and (expensive) food and the clothed set could sit near the bathers at the swim up bar. Some found the lockers a bit small so don't bring too big a bag. Locker rooms had nice bathrooms complete with hair dryers.

We also went on the tour of the big cats. Very interesting and free! There's options for kayaking and climbing a rock wall in the same area, though for a fee. As it was raining, we did not try out those options.

“Beautiful, Breathaking,”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2013

5 star plus Hotel/Spa, very poor treatment technician. This person was not trained to do A professional massage. Very disappointed that a Hotel of this caliber would want a guest to have a poor experience. First don't wear plastic shoes that click on stone floors as you walk to and fro doing the treatment. She rubbed on bony prominences causing pain, resulting with bruises. With hindsight should have stopped the treatment. "But it's 12/31, I'm thinking...end the year with a positive..."
Dinner buffet. It wasn't even so, so. I did enjoy sitting at the table lolly gagging, drinking coffee. I did not do the springs. After paying a little under $200.00, for the spa, did not want to pay for any more poor services. Better services, Baldi, 8, Trabacon, 8, Nazareth, 9, Si, Como No Spa, 10, Paradour 10, Springs-0, These Spa treatments, without regard to $$$$
For the $$$$, Si Como No, had a trained Physical Therapist doing the Tx. With excellent Tx. Products.

“Amazing Spa and hot springs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2013

While on vacay in CR we came here for a day to go to the hot springs and see the jungle cats - after touring the facility we thought it would be nice to treat ourselves to a body scrub and massage. I felt so so relaxed afterward - and clean. Highly recommend doing a coffee scrub while in CR.
