When it's your 30 year anniversary you want a nice dinner and we were thrilled with our first visit to La Farola. Ordered the low end champagne ($32?) but they were out and substituted another brand at the same price. The menu was in Spanish/French/ English which is a nice touch.
They offered a complimentary oyster starter with zesty hot sauce to start. Then had a fruit/cheese salad appetizer and it was delish. Decided on the chicken paella which takes at least an hour according to the menu. We were in no hurry! When it was ready, the chef (AKA mama) came out to talk about the dish. Her son translated. Little things like the special pan was imported from Spain. The verbal presentation added a delightful overview and a bit of theater to the dish!
It was delicious! Wife commented she had never had paella in that style. Bottom line, we will be back. (hint; call ahead if you want paella and are in a hurry.)
