This hotel is in a wonderful location, right by the beach.

The good things about this hotel are:
1. beachfront location - can enjoy the walk along the beach and easy access to many beachfront restaurants
2. Pool right by the beach where you can lie down sunbathing on a beach chair as long as you like and jump into either beach or pool when you get too hot.
3. Breakfast by the beach - listening to waves and gazing at the beach during breakfast is very relaxing

Though I must say room is an average and not the very best. We had a couple of problems on the day we arrived: bathroom door did not unlock when shut and AC was not turning on. The hotel did respond to our complaints as soon as they could - on the next day (because we arrived in the evening and nobody who could fix was around). Luckily, we could get by our first night without AC with ceiling fan alone.

WiFi was only available around the poolside and was not very strong. It did not reach the room. I could Skype my family internationally as long as I was by the poolside.

My friend and I stayed there for 3 nights but it was one of the best beachside experiences we ever had. A great place to stay to enjoy the beach, sun and relaxation.

The place is half decent but the owner truly ruined my time there. He sits around the hotel all day and smokes while making you feel completely uncomfortable. Literally everyday sitting at a table starring you down. He treats the girls that work there like garbage to. After 3 days of bad vibes we ended up spending the rest of our days down the beach away from the hotel to avoid the awkwardness. I've never wrote a review on here before and have been on many vacations. I've made a point to share my experience at this place.

I went to stay on this hotel even after reviewing Trip Advisor not so good comments. But, I liked it overall. I liked the included breakfast, the room, the pool. The seevice was average but I would say the "non intromissive" behavior is way better than having someone on your back. The german owner and his friend are always around, and they greet if you do which is good enough for me. And if he wants to share time with local girls, well that's his biz. And let's be honest, who wouln't? Going back on July for sure.

the hotel is a wonderful place to be, we had an awesome time there, it is shocking to see some of the reviews for we spend some time there and it was simply paradise all the way from the owner to the staff.
the only suggestion would be is to clean up the property a tad but for the value you simply cant beat the experience...
thank you very much for the experience and the value, we shall tell all our friends and return

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times over the course of 6 years. Hotel Las Brisas del Pacifico
was at it's best when I stayed here 6 years ago. The German owner is in his 70's and is looking
to sell the property. There are few signs of earthquake damage including fallen walls behind
the large building closest to the road where no guests are currently housed. There are individual
cabins as well as standard rooms with balconies above the office. Because of fewer visitors to Playa Samara (and not because of the earthquake damage), the large building in the back is not
currently occupied. This may change during Easter Holidays. All rooms could use an updating
but are adequate at $ 95/night. The lower level pool closest to the office is maintained daily and cleaned. The 2nd upper level pool of the currently unoccupied rear building is not maintained nor used. Guests typically walk along the long stretch of beach and/or sit by the pool. Walking along the beach at night is safe and close enough to the restaurants in town. ( A flashlight comes in handy for walking on the beach at night. Make it a point to walk through the nearest beach restaurant EVEN if you are not dining there in order to get to the closest road. That way you can cut down on a lengthier beach walk.) The breakfasts are included and are adequate with one of 3 choices. Years past there was a breakfast buffet but no longer.
Other hotel meals are available but we elected to eat elsewhere. The room has a key operated
safe for valuables. In the past they charged $ 3/day for it's use however not during this last stay.
Location wise, this is the best hotel to stay because it is close enough to walk to the town center,
yet far enough away to have your own beach. Unrelated to the hotel, I disliked the locals walking
their dogs and horses on the beach, yet another reason to use a flashlight at night to see where you are stepping. Though Playa Samara is still one of the nicer beaches in Costa Rica, the locals smoke up the air by burning yard trash.

We stayed one night here as The Fenix, next door, was fully booked.

The price was right; breakfast was included; the staff was very accommodating; it was on the beautiful beach; the pool was wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable.

We had a very reasonably priced room, with a fan. We had an outdoor patio with chairs and enjoyed it very much as it was quiet and the gardens are lovely. Our friends had a room with a/c (on the second floor of the main building) which was very large and included an outdoor balcony with table and chairs. They were pleased, as were we.

There are a lot of European guests, so you can enjoy your peace and quiet here.

My only negative comments would be that there is no fridge in the rooms and the pool lounges are very uncomfortable/some broken and replacement would be a plus. Also, the included breakfast could be improved upon.

This property is in a wonderful location and overall we enjoyed our stay there very much. We would recommend it to our friends.
