“Lovely and peaceful”
Reviewed 18 March 2012

Stayed at Entre dos Aguas in February 2012 for two weeks while attending Intercultura Spanish school. Rooms are very nice and extremely clean. Pool is very nice. The property is beautiful and very quiet. Great common area for relaxing. It was great to meet and talk with other guests; met some really great people. The monkey visits were also really cool.

The only thing I found a bit difficult was the lack of a/c - it is really hot in Samara - but I knew about that before I got there :)

All in all a great place!

My wife and I stayed here in February, 2012, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rooms were nice and talk about clean, housekeeping cleaned the rooms daily, changed the sheets every 3 days and found myriads of ways to fold the towels in creative characters. Lila and Brandon we nice hosts and always helpful. There was a variety of breakfast choices and an outdoor kitchenette and refrigerator if you decide to cook on your own. We both loved the pool, very inviting and clean and I think we swam in it every day. The grounds are very lovely and garden-like and considering how close you are to town and the beach, amazingly quiet. Our biggest pleasure though was getting to know our fellow guests. Many stay long term like we did and many come back here year after year, which should tell you all you need to know about the quality of the place compared to many others in town. We met and made friends with many interesting people and now have more people to visit on our travels. Would we choose this place again if returning to Samara? Darn right we would.

Room Tip: First floor rooms are cooler, second floor rooms do occasionally get noises of chairs scraping acros...

At the edge of town, short walk to the bars and clubs down the main street but far enough not to be disturbed by the loud music. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Good breakfast, with free coffee and tea all day long. Lush garden with nice lounge area featuring hammocks and rocking chairs. Nice refreshing pool. Common kitchen area for those who don't want to eat out as much or traveling on a budget. Staff are very friendly and laid back. All you have to do is help yourself and make yourself at home in costa rica! Stayed there for 5 nights, but this is a very popular B&B, their rooms fill up quick. Would have stayed there longer. Best to reserve early!

Stayed at the Entre Dos Aguas in Jan.2012, and in all honesty it is nice, but it could be much nicer.

For the $55 a night we are currently paying, we could be staying right on the beach. The Entre is a 10 minute walk to the beach, and in all honesty, that is not far, but on a hot day of 37 degree's like it is in January, it seems pretty long.

With worm's in our room and water backing up in the shower, I am not too terribly impressed with the minor details, however the candles and in cents are a nice touch. I would like to see a couple a free bottles of water in the rooms as well, but I don't foresee that happening.

The owner's are from New York and seem to charge for every little thing, such as $2 for a beach towel, $4 for a boogie board rental, etc.

Like I said, Nice but could be nicer.

Room Tip: Stay on the beach for the same price.

Entre dos Aguas is a beautiful hotel set off the main road just as you arrive in Samara - in fact it's an oasis in the middle of a lot of development. The rooms (we stayed in #7) are gorgeous and large, and the rock walled shower is something that must be seen. The common area is also quite comfortable and helpful, if not particularly welcoming.

That's one of the two problems we had with the hotel - it's not particularly welcoming. Hotels definitely cater to a genre of clientele, and dos Aguas caters to those child-free couples or singles in their 20's and 30's who like to party and "hang out." We came with our 5 year old and instantly felt as though we had to keep her quiet and contained the entire time. And then the partying began - the top floor room has a deck directly over the end room, and every little chair scrape or slightly louder than normal voice transmits.

Of course, this was not the other guests' fault - the hotel is just thin-walled. But when we asked if we could get another room so we could sleep, we were met with indifference.

So, a beautiful hotel with hands-off owners/managers - fine. If you like to stay up late and party, Entre dos Aguas is perfect for you. If you've got kids, I'd steer clear.

Room Tip: Room #7 (I think - on the end on the second floor) is directly under the deck upstairs - if anyone i...

We stayed in Entre Dos Aguas for 1 week with our 2-year old and enjoyed every moment of it. Brandon and Lilah, the owners, are very hospitable and are always ready to help. The breakfast is excellent, rooms are very clean and the rockshowers are something to be experienced! We didn't long for Air-con at all, fans keep the rooms at ok temperature, especially the bigger upstairs rooms. There's a wifi which works very well and a book-exchange. Free coffee is available all day.

The communal area has a small kitchen and a fridge, which is very useful. Hammocks are great! Loved to hangout there. Another favorite is the pool, which is big and clean. And only 5 minutes to beach and even less to some of the finest dining!

If they have rooms available when you plan to visit Playa Sámara, don't think twice. This is a supervalue!

Ps. Please tell Brandon's grandma our daughter Mila still remembers her, they had such a good time together :)
