i spent a cumulative month at Hotel mamiri and it is the best hotel/hostel i have ever been to, by a long shot. the hotel offers many double rooms and the hostel has an a/c dorm room upstairs and the kitchen has everything you need. the hotel guests can use all the hostel amenities including free internet, a big fridge, cable tv etc. its very very clean, comfortable, surfer friendly, and the owners diego and sabrina are super nice people willing to help you with w/e you may need, anything from surf spots to shopping and bus schedules. the environment is really relaxed, its quiet at night and guests are always very respectful of the hostel because they all love it! you should seriously consider going to hotel mamiri, i miss it already!! and you can rent the 2 floor cabin in the garden for very cheap.

thanks diego and sabrina,

From Max and Arden!!

I spent around 2 weeks total in Tamarindo and tried out numerous hotels and hostels, Hotel Mamiri was the one that really stood out. The owners Diego and Sabrina are incredibly helpful and friendly, they know all the deals in town, and will help you get anywhere you need to go. If you looking for a private room, or even a hostel environment this is honestly the spot to check out. It’s got a chill surfer vibe, it’s clean and is a perfect distance form the grocery store and beach. It’s an awesome place.

Just walking, the good looking place with its restaurant and bar downstairs (where I found high quality in them too!) caught my attention, I rang the bell and as soon as they showed me a very nice room, warm, with colors and wood, and were so kind to me, I decided to stay there for a week. I stayed for these days having each day a better time, growing a very nice friendship with Diego and Sabrina, the managers. They gave me all kinds of tips of where to rent a car, where to go, who to talk with, where to take surf lessons (their surf shop by the way), etc, etc, etc.
I really felt I was at the place where I had to be. It's quiet but not dull, young but not childish, a lot cooler than regular backpackers places!

I think that it's easy to have a new customer, and the real challenge is to have the customer wanting to come back; these guys achieve this task for sure.

Thank you so much!

Federico.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Mamiri for a month while visiting Costa Rica. We searched around a bit for a place in Tamarindo once we got here, and decided that Hotel Mamiri was an incredibly nice place for the money. True, you can stay somewhere for a slight bit less, but the quality of service and accomodations wouldn't be worth it. The management of the hotel are very professional, security minded, and helpful in all situations. They even brew free coffee throughout the day! Diego is one of the folks that runs the place, and being an avid surfer, he has a good knowledge of local surf spots and conditions, and can really help you tap into the surf scene here if that is what you came to CR to do.

I would recommend Mamiri to anyone who wants to experience a wonderful time in CR, and we will certainly stay here the next time we visit Tamarindo.
