We stumbled upon Cafe Tico one early morning when we were exploring. It was a little before opening time, but the owner came outside and invited us in. She is a delightful Italian woman that's been living in Tamarindo for many years. She gave us an insiders scoop on what to see and do while we enjoyed a very refreshing blended coffee. Their pastries and sandwiches also looked delicious, so we will be returning to try more menu items. Definitely check this place out.

Great coffee and pastries, really surprised to see gluten free offerings. The banana bread was wonderful.

“Perfect for breakfast & lunch”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

This was a wonderful little cafe tucked away and run by some very nice women (a family?). The food is very good, healthy and very reasonably priced. The coffee and coffee drinks are out of this world. I wish we had discovered it earlier in our trip - would have been there every day. The baked goods that they sell are perfect to get to go for a snack later at the beach or on an excursion. Don't miss this place. It's great! (Cash only. Open from 7-5. No dinner.)
