“Excellent friendly owner managed hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2011

A lovely place to stay in the centre (=sleepy village) of Cahuita. The hotel is small and friendly, the Italian owners make you feel welcome immediately and are on hand to help with all your queries. The hotel and rooms are absolutely spotless, which is quite an achievement considering the sandy streets!

Cahuita is very very small but for it's size has a good selection of excellent restaurants. The nearby national park (2minswalk) is fantastic and we saw lots of wildlife there. We were disappointed by a snorkelling trip and didn't think the coral was that good - although it was a little stormy the day before we went out.

I would recommend anyone who visits Cahuita to stay at this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: I would recommend an upstairs room, although the rooms are identical.

This review is long overdue but when my friends and I get together and talk about our trip we are still grateful for what this hotel provided us. They were above and beyond in terms of hospitality. Our plans were to drive from La Fortuna straight to our beach house on the farthest southern coast we were getting very tired of driving and it was getting dark. We ended up in a town midway on our journey called Cahuita never been nor did we know how much it would cost to stay at a hotel. We parked in front of La Casa De Las Flores and a few friends went inside to get a quote for the night. As we parked my friend accidently left the keys in the truck where ALL of our luggage was. We were in a strange town in the middle of the night and had no idea what to do, we wanted to be cautious because there were many locals staring at this point. The owners of La Casa De las Flores came out and tried to help us unlock the car with various wires, flashlights etc. and even asked for help from some locals. They knew we were in trouble and did not leave our side the entire night trying to jerry-rig this car to open the trunk. One of the owners even tried calling our rental company which was hours away to see if they can help but it was so late at night it was closed. We finally got the car open and our luggage and made it inside the hotel. The hotel was super clean and looked nothing like the outside. Each room had a cute patio with chairs, a courtyard, an amazing AC system and clean bathrooms with all of the toiletries. The Italian family went back to the lobby and were playing cards, as we were trying to pool our money together to pay for the rooms they said “Don’t worry about it! Go settle in, rest up and pay us tomorrow morning.” For us 5 young Americans these were the nicest family I have met, to ask us to pay later? I could not believe the hospitality, they made us wish we booked more days in Cahuita. Once we got settled we were super hungry and the hotel told us of some places to eat near by, by far one of the best areas we had for seafood e. They allowed us to park our car in their gated lock for the night since we were worried many of the locals saw how we opened it. In the morning we were greeted with smiles and we happily paid them and walked around cahuita during the day time.

During our tour of Costa Rica, my Husband and I stayed here for a week in November. We had stayed in other places in Cahuita and nothing compares. We wanted to self cater so the kind owners allowed us to use a spare room with a kitchen with plenty of space and great facilities.

The owners Roberta and Ivano are Italian and very friendly and helpful. It's obvious that they love running their hotel and do everything they can to make you feel at home. Our room was very spacious, queen bed, lots of storage space, complimentry coffee and tea, very nice clean bathroom, hot showers, aircon, TV, wifi etc.

All rooms have a terrace overlooking the well tended courtyard where you can watch butterflies and gecko's on the beautiful flowers and plants. It's on the edge of the small town so not noisy, yet a very short stroll to the restaurants, shops and Cahuita National Park and beach. It's also a short - 2 minute walk from the bus station if you are arriving that way.

It was a good price too for all that it offered and we would definately stay here again. Book it now, you won't be sorry!

We just finished a two night stay and this hotel couldn't be better for the comfort and value in a great, central location of Cahuita. Ivano and Roberta were excellent hosts who took really good care of us and the other guests and the room (with a very good A/C unit) was perfect for our family of 5 (three kids 6, 4, and 7 months).

Dear all.
I been with my back around Costa Rica trying to spend as less as possible and what I have found was a palace!!! I cant really understand some previous opinions.. but I only can say that this hotel is very new. The rooms are huge and they are CLEAN (no creatures under the bed or spiders in the toilet!!!). The air conditioners is a must in this country and all rooms have it.
I paid 35 dolars (just me!) but I didnt stay during the busy season.
The location is great. 3 min walking to the park of Cahuita and the beach!!! Plenty of restaurants around (local, italian,...) and also a supermarket.
The bus station is about 5 min walking.
During my stay in the hotel I went snorkelling with Jose (a local) and it was one of the best experience in Costa Rica (in the Coral Reef).
Ivanno and Roberta are the owners of the hotel and they will help you to keep busy finding you activities to do.
I do not think you would find a hotel like this over there. The hotel is very well decorated!!!

I would go back there!!! No doubt...
