My top choice for Cahuita, a happy, beautiful, relaxed place. The French owners are the sweetest happiest people, the place is beautiful and lush, rooms clean and nice, hammocks everywhere and a very tasty breakfast is included. Loved it, merci e gracias!

Room Tip: Ask for a hammock, always:)

We were welcomed by Daniel and Brigitte with a refreshing tropical fruit drink which set the tone for the week that we spent here. The breakfasts were tasty, ample and varied. The pool was clean and inviting especially in the hot humid weather. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spotless. The well tended gardens were filled with a variety of birds, insects and reptiles which we enjoyed watching as we lounged in chairs and hammocks. We listened to soothing jazz while reading from the rather large library of fiction and guide books. El Encanto just kicked the whole laid-back Caribbean experience up a few notches for us. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic relaxing place to stay!! Felt sad to be leaving this morning waving off brigitte and Danielle like old friends!! Stayed in a little lodge room in the beautiful tropical garden - with sound of the sea and the amazing dawn chorus. So many birds in the garden - a delight to walk around exploring, spotting many different colours of bird and loads of little green and black frogs. Lovely pool, great breakfasts - you definitely won't be disappointed. Go there!!!

The El Encanto Inn has a truly beautiful garden which is the highlight of the place. There is a lovely outside reading area that is very peaceful. The breakfast was excellent, and the inn's location of being just outside the main part of town leaves it peaceful but with easy access to the town and the Cahuita National Park (roughly 1km from the hotel). The room was clean and well appointed, with a nice deck with a hammock and table and chairs.

If you appreciate beautifully maintained tropical botanical gardens, you'll love this place. All sorts of flowering plants and tropical trees adorn the grounds here and are lovingly maintained by a local man who works all week at keeping it nice. This was the only place I've seen poison dart frogs in my entire Costa Rica trip! The hosts Brigitte and Danielle, fluent in Spanish and French, we're very welcoming and provided an amazing breakfast after a comfortable night in one of their quiet, clean rooms. In walking around Cahuita, I never saw another place that came close to offering the features so perfectly as this place.

Room Tip: They have a 2 story, 3 bedroom house available as well.
