My partner and I stayed for four nights in one of the upstairs suites. The room and grounds were spotless. You could see all the hard work the staff puts into this bed and breakfast. Everyday morning we were greeted with a delicious breakfast and a genuine smile. Coffee was good and brewed for us every night. We felt so spoiled!

if you come to cahuita - stay here.
the staff is amazingly friendly. the rooms are big and clean. breakfast is delicious. you won't be in a room (like a hotel), you will be in a mini garden-house. you feel like you live in paradise with flowers and trees all around you.

i can 100% recommend this place. you won't find anything better in cahuita.

keep in mind it's a wooden house. there are flyscreens everywhere so no mosquitos in the house but you are in a garden, so it's not a fancy hotel. trust us - we are are not backpacker kind of people and we like it clean and nice and this hotel definitely met our expectations.

thanks again.

This hotel was probably the best choice for our Costa Rica trip 2014 - here we had the first contact of how life could be when you live in paradise :)
The Hotel itself is small but very cosy - if one is not able to relax in this place then definitely nowhere else.
There are plenty of things we could tell about what we'd enjoyed most, here are some of them:
- the breakfast every day (freshly baked bread, the fresh juice)
- the sound while walking through the beautiful garden when you get up with dawn
- the jacuzzi
- the cosy pool with its waterfall
- the little but far enough distance from cahuita
- and of course: the fabulous staff, especially the hotel manager Alex who is probably the best manager this hotel can have!

If we ever come back to Costa Rica, we will visit this place again for sure!

Room Tip: Every room is excellent!

Enchanting indeed. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the grounds/gardens are just lovely and very well kept.
Plenty of areas to relax especially in the steamy midday heat. Taking a dip in the lovely pool and watching the wildlife were bonuses.
We had a studio with kitchenette and balcony on the second floor. Really excellent breakfast -- the best pancakes -- and the manager Alex makes a delicious pizza dinner with a day's notice.
Alex arranged a wonderful boat trip for us with one of the local fishermen to see the coral reefs in the national park. He took us to three spots and gave us a guided snorkeling tour to make sure we saw everything. It was amazing.
Alex gives every guest his personal attention and makes sure you have a great time. He is an absolute gem.
Very good restaurant across the street Sobre los Olas sits elevated right on the shoreline and has the best views. It's a 5 minute walk into town from El Encanto.

We absolutely loved our stay at El Encanto! We had a wonderful time visiting the National Park, the town, the beach, etc., but the best part of all was returning to El Encanto and resting by the pool every afternoon. We looked forward to breakfast every morning. The fresh fruit and homemade bread were delicious. Alex will host dinner for hotel guests upon request, and the homemade pizza is fabulous. All of the reviews about Alex and how wonderful he is are absolutely true. His hospitality is like none other. His personality and charisma made our stay that much more fun and enjoyable. He helped us plan our activities and was able to answer all of our questions. Although the bunaglow rooms don't have air conditioning, it stayed cool enough at night and we were comfortable with the fans on. It takes around 5 minutes to walk into town - we never felt unsafe walking after dark. The National Park is pretty much attached to town and was fun to explore. We were also able to take the bus and enjoy a day trip to Puerto Viejo. This was the perfect place for a couple looking for quiet and relaxing Caribbean retreat.

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we were so happy to start our trip off in Cahuita. The rooms are set in a tropical setting and beautifully manicured gardens. It is a small complex but does not feel crowded. This is a great place to just relax and sit on your hammock and listen to ocean. The manager was great and friendly, offered recommendations for local food options. Encanto is a short walk to the village and just across the street from a beach. There is secure parking in the compound . The rooms were immaculately clean (I have stayed in chain hotels that have not been this spotless) Downside is there is no air conditioning which may be off-putting to some as it does get hot. Breakfast was pleasant.Overall is was a great place to relax and escape.

You just can't stay at a better place than this! it is a wonderful little oasis in the dusty, charming town of Cauhita, with a small and slightly wild-growing garden, wonderful pool, incredibly nice and helpful manager (as well as the rest of the personnel);, good and rich breakfasts, cosy pizza restaurant some evenings, clean and very nice rooms - there is simply nothing NOT good about this place (except possibly that beds were a bit too hard - but never mind). Alex, the manager, also arranged trips of his own that were really interesting.
We did not want to leave after a week - and we definitely will try to come back!
Very warmly recommended!

Room Tip: We stayed in a lovely, ground level bungalow - very nice and perfect for us. If you have more money...
