I stayed here for two nights and loved it. Clean, comfortable, friendly hosts, tons of animals and a quick walk to the beach & town. Breakfast was fresh and wonderful. The hosts organized a snorkel trip which was a highlight of my trip. The bed was really comfortable which after traveling in a van was a huge plus! Highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: One of the outside cabins would have just a bit more privacy.

My husband and I were in Costa Rica mid May for 10 nights. We both agree that Coral Hill Bungalows was our favorite. We were there for 2 nights. They have 3 bungalows and they are spaced out for privacy. Everything was super clean! Huge showers with hot water. The beds were very comfortable. My husband has a bad back and that is important to him. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The bungalows are beautiful and spacious and very close to the beach. What I loved most was being able to hear the creatures and animals at night. The nighttime just comes alive and you hear it all! I also loved hearing the rain on the metal roof. The morning breakfast was awesome! They served a huge plate of fresh fruit for each of us along with an assortment of German made breads and an entree. It was wonderful. We enjoyed visiting with Chris and Joe also. They are a very nice couple and helped us with some suggestions and reservations. I'm so glad we took the time to visit the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. We did go snorkeling in the Cahuita National Park and although we thought the snorkeling was not the greatest we still enjoyed the experience and being out on the water. Our favorite restaurant in the area was Sobre Las Olas. It is feet away from the beach-- you can eat right on the beach. It's beautiful and the food was surprisingly delicious! We also enjoyed Puerto Viejo at sunset sitting on the beach people watching. It's a great little area. By the way-- I wouldn't worry at all about the dog, Rocky. He is a sweetheart and the owners take special care to make sure the visitors are comfortable. If you don't like dogs they keep him away. It was nice though knowing Rocky was watching out for us keeping an eye on the property. All in all we would definitely return without hesitation!

Room Tip: I don't think you could go wrong with any of the 3 bungalows although I guess maybe the ends wou...

Our second visit to coral hill and just as impressive as the first. The bungalows are set in the extensive gardens of the main house and have real feel of being in the heart of the jungle. Wildlife is all around and the jungle noises are amazing. The quality of the accommodation is first class - well maintained, spacious and high quality. Chris and joe are excellent hosts, with lots of advice and insight into the local area and the attractions. The breakfasts are superb and really set you up for the day.
Having now explored the area over two visits we can say that this is without doubt the best BandB accommodation in the area and in the likely event that we pay a third visit, this is where we will stay.
Cahuita is starting to develop at an increasing pace. At present this only amounts to paving the road and tidying up the garden area in the village and so for now it retains it's unique laid back Caribbean style. If you are thinking about going, go in the next couple of years and stay at coral hill.

The cabins are very nicely designed and the surrounding garden is lovely. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars has more to do with Cahuita than Coral Hill. This is one of those communities where everything is behind a big security gate. For me, this really takes away from the vacation experience to be locked in a compound. This may be preferable to having your car vandalized or your luggage rifled through, granted! Nevertheless, it just isn't the vacation experience I seek. I vastly prefer Punta Uva, just 30 minutes south of Cahuita, where there are few gates and the community feels more like a neighborhood.

We just returned from an experience of a lifetime. Chris and Joe provided a wonderful cabina set in the rain forest as well as amazing breakfasts and sage advice on what to see and do. They were extremely fast with email responses prior to our trip and, while in Cahuita, were there for us if we needed anything. We were tucked into the forest but close enough to the ocean and the town if we wanted to walk or swim. The bus station to neighboring towns was within a mile and very cheap. We loved our stay and would love to return. Our hosts scheduled our snorkeling and canopy tours and suggested the Tree of Life and Jaguar Rescue Sanctuaries and we loved both. Go with their suggestions!

Gorgeous grounds, spacious and relaxing bungalow, terrific breakfasts and hosts who were so helpful in navigating places to go and activities. Cahuita is very laid back and playa negra is a 5 minute walk from coral hill. The park is within walking distance as well and is gorgeous - so terrific to walk anywhere essentially and see wildlife! Monkeys, iguanas, sloths, poison dart frogs, birds - just so amazing!
