Its definitively a place for younger people. They played loud music from 9am to over 11pm, I asked them if they could turn down the volume a little bit, they said yes in a polite manner but they didnt turn it down.
The people is very nice, always partying. Great place to have fun by the beach, but not a great place to rest.

Staff were useless. Apparently they all decide to take their 30 min break at the same time leaving the hostel unstaffed being unable to figure out to take breaks in shifts. The amount of people needing reception in that time was immense and the line was out the door by the time these useless sacks decided their break was over. The snorkel equipment they hire out at crazy high prices is damaged and unusable. Wouldn't stay again.

This place is crazy. Loved it so much I had to get a job. Way funn. The art is inspirational . The natural hangover pool in the back was were I spent the most time that or the bar. All employees work very hard for you. Reception is a bit slow. While your there go say hi to J. HIGHLIGHT... Way to man beautiful people

Room Tip: Go with a hammock. One person tent gets a bit hot when you bring in a second person

This place was awesome, if you're not too picky about sleep. To me, sleeping beach side in a hammock isn't so bad. It might not have been comfortable (or totally warm, bring a blanket!) but it was still fun. The bar/restaurant were amazing too; there was no need to go to town for dinner and drinks. And if you're not into paying for expensive alcohol, there's a mini mart right across the street! The bar area closes at 12am, which is perfect when you're ready to go to bed in your hammock. There are plenty of areas to hang out and lounge, and you will meet people from all over the world! Definitely recommended.

The dormbeds ? hmm there is 2. A huge place full of tent and another one full of hammacks! THe hostel is one of the most original I've seen! So much art everywhere, you can't stop looking at the walls. It's a party hostel, but you can chill too, there's a lot of relax little spots and the beach is right next door! Firecamp, beer pong, music and games, people from everywhere ..
Had a great time, go have one there too !

This hostel is different from others. It has a personality, which may either suit you or not.
Pro's: beachfront, bikerental for $5 (nice for your own trip to Manzanillo), own tour-office
Cons: When sleeping in one of the 50 tents, expect just a foam matrass, not great for sleeping. Bar plays loud music (starts early 7-ish sometimes untill 11pm, even when there is nobody around. Tents are next to the bar. Showers are cold, no possiblility for hot water. Just a few spots to charge phones for 50 people. No chill area, hammacs are only for rent. Wifi comes and goes. Kitchen equipement is dirty with black stuff.

But ive seen people that just don't care, all having fun with their own bottle of rum.

My brother was at J's last summer and said he had the time of his life, so we decided to return this year. We rented a private room with a bunk bed and I think we got lucky. Our friend stayed in the dorm and said it wasn't worth the $11 a night. However, we didn't have a bad experience. There were probably 50 people staying at J's when we were there. Unfortunately, people were on there phones the entire time and for that reason, the atmosphere wasn't as great as it could've been. The few friendly people we did meet were awesome and I can foresee being lifelong friends. The bike rental was great and well worth the $5. J himself was great and invited me to do a mosaic which was awesome. I love the artsy feel of J's and the location. The atmosphere just could have been better.
