Description: Our Peace and Love Restaurant has a spectacular terrace overlooking the sea, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything is homemade here, including bread, pasta, Romagnola piadina(flat bread typical of Italy’s Emilia Romagna region),and desserts. You will find a very friendly atmosphere where tropical elements combined all together create a nice environment for your dinner. Choose from our menu among the several salads, or different kind of pasta as spaghetti, ravioli, tagliatelle…seasoned with the seafood.

Good salads. As with everywhere else in the world the pizza cannot compare with pizza from the USA, but it wasnt bad. The rice with sausage and chicken special was really good. As with everything else in Costa Rica with the exception of lodging, it was overpriced. Things should be less expensive in Costa Rica, the labor is far cheaper, there is no heat or AC expense, taxes are low, they dont have the same sanitation standards as do the USA and other countries. The waitress was nice compared to other places in Costa Rica we have eaten, but it was still not at the level of mediocre USA places. Costa Rica is NOT a country known for great service.

As Italian, I always try to avoid italian restaurants when I travel abroad, however this was an exception I was more than happy to do. The chef is an italian guy that managed to mix the italian tradition with the Caribbean flavors. If you are looking for home made pasta, home made focaccias, piadinas all cooked with fresh fish and seafoods, this is the place to go.
I was amazed by the great dinner I had the first night, the ceviche was great and the home made pasta with fish was simply what you can expect in a proper quality (and much more expensive) restaurant in front of an italian beach, however this was nothing comparing to what was expecting me for my last night. The chef cooked for us lobsters following the caribbean tradition, including few, but important italian details. That dinner was simply amazing and I would recommend it to anybody that spend some days in Puerto Viejo.

Mediocre food, no red wine by the glass. They refused to honor their happy hour special . Much better available along this strip.
