I spent only 5 days there and I could spent my life there :) It's so relaxing and Pura vida style!
It's easy to feel like home there! Tom the host is very nice and helpful!!
We were in the hut (like the big picture), I liked it so much! It's like sleeping right in the jungle but so comfortably! In the morning, you wake up with the sound of the monkeys!!! There is so much things to do around, you can stay there for a long time! Thanks for everything, I will come back for sure!!! Maggy

Beautiful place in the jungle, very close to the beach where you feel alone in the world. The location is great, just between Puerto Viejo (4,5kms) and the heavenly beach of Manzanillo (8kms). The place is clean, quiet and safe; Tom, the owner is helpful. My stay of 1 week and a half was very pleasant, the Casita is just perfect, I love it! Definitely a good experience,Thanks for all Tom! PURA VIDA!

My wife and I liked it so much here that we ended up coming back for a second stay. Tom is a great host and super flexible and accommodating (he was a big help in organizing our transportation). The place is in a beautiful and accessible location – it's nicely secluded yet also just a short walk or bike ride to the beach, the Jaguar Rescue Center, and plenty of great restaurants. We stayed in the Casa and our room was a good size and very clean too. The Casa has a comfortbale, large common area with hammocks and a great kitchen setup, which is perfect if you like to cook for yourself (a nice supermarket is only 10 minutes away by bike and they have rentals for $5/day). Best of all, everyone is very friendly and if you stay here, you might end up having an impromptu party or chocolate tour.

Great value and highly recommended.

This is the most comfortable hotel we stayed in. It was like staying with a friend. It is very low key but the atmosphere makes everyone come out and talk and share their experiences. Tom will find great tours for you that are a little out of the way so you will not be jammed in to the crowds. It is in the jungle not the beach but the beach is just across the road so getting there is easy. We arrived a day late and he didn't charge me for the missed day. It is a bit hard to find but that is the beauty of it. You will find it near the Malbec Restaurant. It is hard to believe it is this good for the price but it is just a rare find. You can even cook in the kitchen if you prefer. If you go with a large group ask for the thatched house. You will really have a native experience.

I am a costarrican guy and I went to Puerto Viejo and sorroundings for three days with my family before this year reaches its end. We stayed at Casa Moabi and I have to say that it was a great experience. Why? Well....although there are a variety of places to stay....this little lodge fulfills the expectations of those who want a real contact with nature in a peaceful environment. I say that because it is located at five kilometers from Puerto Viejo in a beautiful and not crowded area. In order to go to Puerto Viejo for a beer, socialization or whatever you need from a town, it takes around five minutes by car or around ten minutes by bike if you have one or rent one of them. If you plan to visit one of the most beautiful beaches in the hole country (Punta Uva) it takes arround ten minutes by car. In my visit I could see lots of hummingbirds, green parrots, howler monkeys, etc around the "casita" where we stayed. All these is great, but what really caught my attention was the staff of Casa Moabi. Tom (who owns and manages the place), Rafael and Guiselle who help Tom in different matters. They are really nice people because certainly show a true interest in their guest´s confort. They are constantly asking their guests about their needs, give advise if requested about the places to visit. To sum up....they make you feel as if you were part of a family called Casa Moabi. I don´t know if it is because I am costarrican and those things are the ones we considerer important. The truth is that I really believe this is the most important asset of Casa Moabi. For this reason, I just want to thank Tom and his crew (Rafael and his wife Guiselle) for everything. Lo están haciendo muy bien, muchas gracias y hasta pronto. Merci Tom.
