There is too much to say about this great place in just a few words...
EVERYthing you need is on this property & the beach just across the road out front. There is easy access to a grand 'route' of awesome Caribbean beaches! Bungalows are lovely & super clean!! Everything is easy access, but they have managed to keep the private feel & jungle surroundings.
Restaurant is so nice & yummy as well! The prices are very fair & everyone can speak English well enough to have NO communication issues!
Salon/Spa on property is terrific! The owner Auxi is amazing & so personable. She doesn't leave the work to others; she is very involved with all the going-ons. I have been a customer here many times & I've seen her accommodate persons on the spot with whatever service they request. Always with graciousness & as she says "con mucho gusto"! (With much pleasure) and she means it!!!
The salon attendant, Katia hand cuts flowers from the property & beautifully decorates the place!! Fresh flowers are everywhere!!!
*Remember if you visit the area: you will be in one of the most gracious, polite & kind areas of the country, so please treat the people in kind.* use patience & consideration & they will go out of their way to assist you! This is not the land of 'rush'! It is the land of PURA VIDA! Enjoy!!

The room was comfortable but with a funny style: leopard sheets and rocky areas. Nevertheless it was a cool and fun experience, it's surrounded by a nice garden and the restaurant was very good. Location wise it's perfect: 3 minutes drive to the beach ,10 minutes to town, 15 minutes to punta Uva. The owners were very friendly.

I stayed at La Costa de Papito in early April and LOVED it! Every morning, the staff put out an enormous spread for breakfast. There's the freshest papaya, pineapple, coconut cake, all sorts of cereals, great local coffee and eggs made to your liking. Pancakes and french toast round out the choices during the week. The dining room is so comfortable with custom-made local wood tables and chairs, lots of room, great music....I found myself reading and relaxing every morning..a great way to start the day!

They offer so many perks for the beach...chairs, umbrellas and towels at no extra cost. I didn't take a bicycle but many travelers did, as it seems to be the best way to get around.

I loved my room and joked that I could actually live in it. Coming from NYC, I wasn't kidding! Aside from the spacious room with a Queen and 2 single beds, the outside porch with a hammock and picnic table allowed for guests and the bathroom was open air and had delightful tiles and color scheme.

The place is a jungle paradise and just what I needed to face the concrete jungle again!

Room Tip: I walked around the property and the Cabinas were all different and very artistic. Traveling solo I...

The La Costa de Papito is a lovely place to stay. The bungalows are very comfortable and charming. While there is no swimming pool, the beach across the street is a great place to spend the day and the folks at the hotel will lend you beach chairs and an umbrella at no cost. For a small fee you can rent bikes and boogie boards and I recommend both as a great way to entertain yourself. The hotel is located a bit far from the village of Puerto Viejo, so bikes during the day or a taxi ride at night are needed to get into town. We were a bit underwhelmed with the restaurant. It's ok, but not great. One night there was entertainment provided by a Calypso band. They were awful. Amusing to watch but only for a little while. If you're looking for a good meal and some quality entertainment, spend the $5 and head into town.

The best ever in Costa Rica. I've been all over this beautiful country since 2000. Nothing compares to La Costa de Papito. My children have practically been raised there. I have 2 lil girls and a son and have been here at Papitos with them many many times. The safest most family friendly resort I've ever been to. We love it.

My family and I spend a couple of nights at La Costa de Papito on a 10 day trip to Costa Rica and it's on our "must go back" list. The location is perfect, the staff makes you feel like family and you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves at night and wake up to the sound of birds in the morning. Just down the road are some of the best beaches we came across and a wildlife refuge that extends to Panama - you can view monkeys and sloths without the crowds seen in other parts of the country.

I had a wonderful stay at La Costa De Papito, and I will be visiting them again and again! Their grounds are stunning, and the staff made our trip feel like one of a kind. The bungalows are adorable, clean, and have a very safe feel to them. The restaurant has delicious food, and even better drinks. Anything that we needed was graciously accommodated for us and then some. Papito's is just a short bike ride or taxi ride away from everything you'd need, and the beach across the road is stunning. Also, make sure you check out the salon on the grounds and have a massage or get your hair done, they do a fabulous job!! I would come and stay at this establishment any time I visit Costa Rica, and so should you! You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Any room is a good room in Costa Rica :)
