“Loved Cocles beach first, than Punta Uva and Chiquita beach”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Forget black Playa negra and Puerto Viejo beach and start from the vibe of Cocles beach, with its charming island in the front and surf competitors. Than, if you want romantic moon beaches with natural swimming pools on the coral, you'll find Chiquita beach and than Uva beach (the best for snorkelling). Manzanillo is all right, beautiful if you take the trail into the refuge (hald an hour to get the best place).

“Dined in Playa Chiquita”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

To me this was a village not a town. The road is narrow and cars drive very fast. Always take a flash light. Restaurants do not serve until 6:30 or 7 which is after dark. Didn't get a chance to visit grocery.

“Sweet beach”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

I really do like this little beach. It was a 200 m walk from the lodge we stayed and a great place to spend the afternoon or morning! Its a quieter beach with less waves since there is a lot of reef there. But many trees and much shade. Truly a lovely place. I highly recommend.

“Our favorite beach”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

Beautiful beach with lots of small sea life to walk the beach and look at. I liked this beach far better then the other Puerto Viejo beaches. There are some rip tides present so if you aren't a strong swimmer I wouldn't go out deep, but my boyfriend really enjoyed the waves. Water was very warm. This a public beach, but there are no bathroom facilities. There are some garbage cans available for recycling. We just filled a bag with ice and brought some beverages while we layed there all day. You can easily find your own private section for relaxation.

“Nice, pristine environment with all amaneties”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

A narrow natural beach with great waves for wading in February. Restaurants and hotels just a few hundred feet away, but very discrete.
