What i can say... i really enjoyed stay here with my family. big room, big bathroom with very good shower, the food was amazing and well cooked, swinmin pool clean and really beautiful garden full of birds, monkey , reptiles and more.... probably one of the best places in Tortuguero.
We will be back again but next time we will stay minimun 3 nghts... Tortuguero is a fantastic place .

Room Tip: i think any room can be good....

The whole trip was very well organized. They pick you up in a tour bus and then you take a small boat to get to the hotel. The cabins are very simple, but clean and nice. Don't expect any luxury, there is no TV, no AC, and only wifi in the reception area. But then again, a weekend of total relaxation is great!! We stayed 3 nights 4 days which was great. They keep you entertained. You have a tour Tortuguero town. It's very small, but there are some nice souvenir shops, there is a Pizza place that's delicious; we ordered some pizzas and they delivered them to the hotel. The kids were happy to have a pizza night. The tour in the National Park Canals was just beautiful. At the hotel you have a nice pool where you can cool of after a hot day. YES!! it was terribly hot! And there are kayaks yo can use. You can see a lot of wildlife at the hotel. I would say the only inconvenient were the zillion mosquitos and the heat. So pack a lot of repellent and take a fan.

You arrive via a canal boat trip which was wonderful in itself. The guide is amazing at spotting wildlife along the way. When you arrive you are greeted with a tropical drink, given your room key and directions to your room. The rooms are very basic but very clean. Everything is on raised platforms / stilts. Thank goodness they warned us about the howler monkey morning wakeup! Due take the early AM bird walk as that is when you see the most. An afternoon relaxing around the pool is also great. The meals were good but nothing great. But highly recommend the lodge for your stay in the rainforest.

Access to our accommodation was by a boat trip along rivers & canals through the Tortuguero National Park. Occasionally the water was so shallow that some of the boat crews had to ‘punt’ the boat along. Anyway a lovely trip to start our two night stay.
Our accommodation was Lodge No.14, raised on stilts above the rainforest floor. Surprisingly large lodge, plenty of space in the main room, storage space for clothes, easy chairs & table, two rocking chairs on the entrance porch and an en-suite with all amenities. The one thing that surprised me was no glass in the windows, just very fine wire mesh which kept the flying insects out. Obviously with no windows there was no air-con but an overhead fan. There were lodges either side of us but rarely heard any voices or noise from them. The only noise heard was from the rainforest animals, especially the howling monkeys. Boy, can they make some noise.
The resort was nicely laid out with all the accommodation spread out within the rainforest. All meals were included, although buffet style the staff served it and I thought there was good choice at each meal. We found that if we wanted an alcoholic drink with our meal we had to ask for it, nothing wrong with that though. There were two restaurants but we only used one of them.
The swimming pool was a nice length albeit shaped not rectangular with a whirlpool at one end, not a hot pool. Alongside it was one of the bars, one of the other bars overlooked the main river.
You could have free use of kayaks, where you could paddle into the rainforest (not much chance of getting lost) or out to the main river. While there we visited the village of Tortuguero, had a national park excursion via boat & walking. Staff were helpful with anything you asked, all with a smile. Very nice stay & educational about the rainforest.

Room Tip: Wherever you are, the animals make noise so cannot advise on a quieter room. One suggestion is to have a room away from the bar by the swimming pool, they play music till late, or did while we were there.

There were 7 of us on a family vacation. We had three rooms, mine on the corner was beautiful with a wall of windows to let in light and the morning calls of monkeys and birds. Bathroom was big with huge shower and was clean. TP goes in trash can, not toliet, as in many ecotourist places.
The room was airy, clean and the ceiling fan did the job of keeping us cool. The grounds are full of wildlife and flowers.
Right outside our rooms we found a humming bird on her nest of eggs.
The guide on the walking tour and the boat tour were great, spotting critters we would never have seen. They cut up coconuts for us to the delight of my grandson.
Kayaks are available at no extra charge. The pool was beautiful with a bar nearby and another bar on the canal. The buildings are lovely rustic wood. The food was fine, with eggs cooked to order in the mornings.
Right, there is no TV, thank God. There is wifi in one area.

Room Tip: that corner room, #60, was delightful, but I like waking to the sounds of the rain forest.
