We received a warm welcome from Ana who was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated, plus the scenery was beautiful. Spending time on our patio (right by the pool) was relaxing and peaceful. I would not hesitate to stay here again, in fact, I cant' wait to return. It could not have been better!

Ana and her staff are top notch! They all exceeded my expectations. I don't think I have ever recieved such exemplary customer service. Ana is a true pleasure, she is not only kind but very helpful. She arranged for a private driver to pick me up from the airport and then drive me back to San Jose when I was ready to leave. During my stay she cut fresh fruit every morning for all the guest on top of cooking a full breakfast for everyone. She also arranged for me to do a zip line tour. All with a smile!

On top of great service this B&B is absolutely beautiful! I walked around Jaco and I did not see anywhere else that could even compare! If you stay here you will feel like you have truly reached Paradise. The pictures do not do this place justice.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at this hotel as a part of Honeymoon and would recommend it to anybody, expecially couples. The hotel is down hidden among personal residences off an unpaved road but once you enter in the gates it is awesome. We were greeted with a glass of wine by the hotel manager, Ana. The hotel is very small and we were lucky enough that we were the only guests in the hotel for 3 of our 4 nights. Ana was very nice and offered lots of advice about the area and Costa Rica in general. When we were shown to our room, we were blown away by the comfort. The room had two beds and had a large sliding glass door that looked out onto a beautiful pool with lots of greenery behind the pool. Behind the hotel is a small river. In the morning, we heard the monkeys in the trees and saw the lizards/frogs hanging around the property. We felt like we were very close to nature and also had a closed in room with AC. It was very quiet at night as the hotel is off on a hidden road. However, we were 3 minutes drive from downtown Jaco where the clubs and parties hang. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for beauty and quiet.

My husband and I stayed in El Paso de las Lapas during our honeymoon. Ana and her team made sure that our honeymoon started of wonderfully by having champagne waiting for us in our room. Ana helped us plan our activities, made great recommendations and even catered to our breakfast tastes.

Laura, the owner, was also there to make sure we felt welcome and our every need was met. This hotel is a wonderful place to spend a vacation, nestled in the middle of the rainforest. THis place is well worth the trip to Costa Rica all on its own!

We stayed with Anna and her team for a whole week. We had a great time there. The staff was always friendly and always keen on making us happy, for example with a delicious fruit cocktail. The room is very spacious, for two people enough comfort definitely. It was always very clean. We loved the atmosphere of being close to paradise. Many exotic birds, the pool, sun bathing...we had a great time. They helped us to organize always a taxi to get too town, very nice.
Thanks to all of them

El Paso del Las Lapas is a wonderfully secluded hotel within striking distance of Jaco. The rooms were very comfortable/luxurious and the facilities were unexpectedly new and modern. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, recommending several tasty local restaurants. It was a real breath of fresh air relative to Jaco. Highly recommended.
Make sure to check out nearby: Playa Herradura (eat at El Pelicano) and Playa Hermosa

Just returned from 2 weeks in Costa Rica. After a busy 8-day eco tour in the relentless rain of the mountains & rainforests we arrived in paradise. The small hotel has only 10 rooms, each with 2 queen beds, a day bed, a patio or balcony and an outdoor fully equipped kitchenette that overlooks the pool and the lush mountainside. We saw more varieties of birds in the first few hours than we'd seen craning our necks all day in the rainforest. Anna, the manager, is there for every request, including taking us to Jaco to a tico Soda, pointing out worthy restaurants, driving us to a lookout for a photo op and much more. The grounds are pristine, the pool perfect. Breakfast is included and other meals can be ordered in, made in your kitchen or by going to a restaurant in nearby Jaco Beach or Herradura Beach (free taxi included). If you want tranquility, and all the comforts of home, go there. We really needed the heat and the relaxation after the eco tour and couldn't have asked for more. Watch out for that afternoon sun though, it's a scorcher!
