We were very happy with the choice to stay at the Morgan's Cove. Although it was supposed to be high season, all of Jaco was rather quiet at that time and so when we arrived on a Sunday evening at the hotel there were about 12 out of the appr. 60 rooms occupied, which we loved. It was very relaxing and we felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves almost (we came here more for the surfing than the partying, but there are few good bars in town, just make sure to ask fellow traveleres or hotel staff for "safe" bars, as there is some prostitution going on at nights in Jaco!). The rooms were big and clean (we had Garden/Pool side and got a great deal online for 59 Dollar including breakfast). Parking for our rental car was free and secure. The hotel has two bigger and two smaller pools, a pool bar, a casino, billard tables, free internet in the lobby and a beach volley ball field. We loved the location right at the beach, especially the bar and the restaurant, so we enjoyed breakfast and our afternoon cocktail tremendously with a nice beach view or sunsets. All of the staff was very friendly, nice and helpful to assist us getting around or booking surf lessons etc. The breakfast buffet was great as well. The center town with all the bars on the mainstrip is a 10 minute walk away or a 2 Dollar cab ride. We are girls, so advised by hotel staff, we walked into town, but always took a cab back at night. All in all a good hotel for a great price.

The facilities are great, though not super fancy ... but EVERYTHING YOU NEED is there!
But the True Values of Morgan's Cove .... are found in the Treasures themselves ... the FRIENDLY and HELPFUL STAFF !!!

When we arrived in San Jose airport, we had someone from Morgan's Cove greet us with a smile and welcomed us to Costa Rica. The drive to Jaco was scenic and the new road made the trip very enjoyable. The resort is situated in a great location since its minutes from downtown Jaco, which has very nice restaurants, shopping and nightlife. The ocean front room was very nice and clean. The resort had everything we needed, with a very nice beach, pool, restaurant, bar and casino. The resorts staff provided with us first class service during our 4 day stay which exceeded our expectations. With deep sea fishing, rafting, surfing and canopy tours in the rain forest, it was hard for us to decide on what activities to do. We decided to go deep sea fishing on the 55 foot "Rock & Roll". My friends and I caught 10 Sailfish (all over 130 pounds), and many Tuna and Dolphin (also known as Dorado or Mahi Mahi). I live in Florida and I have never caught so many fish in just two days. The boats staff provided us with excellent service, food and drink. My friends and I have fished all over the world and we would rank Jaco, Costa Rica as one of the best places to fish large Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna and Dolphin.

Please catch and release all game fish to insure the Costa Rican fishery stay's healthy.

Since we had a great time, we are now planning our next trip back to Morgan's Cove. We will be doing some of those activities we missed on our last trip as well as more deep sea fishing.

We want to personally thank Roger, Jeff and their staff for making our vacation very enjoyable one we will never forget. Pura Vida!

This is a hotel that is trading on the "Hard Rock" name. It is NOTHING like a Hard Rock, and the casino is literally smaller than my kitchen. The food was not good, only the fruit was edible. Our room was NOT beachfront, it was nowhere NEAR the beach. When we got there they have NO idea we were coming even though we'd reserved the room in 2 months prior, we watched as people came in and paid less than half what we did through expedia. When they finally DID get our room straight, they tried to put us in a room with two single beds. We were on our honeymoon. Needles to say were not happy, The staff clearly doesn't realize that people from the US can also speak spanish, so I was able to understand the rude things they said as well as understand they had no clue were were expected. The beach which you had to walk a good 1/4 a mile to, was littered with trash. There are so many other nice hotels, don't waste our money on this one.

The hotel is clean and in a good location for a base to do a canopy tour or boat or fishing. Surfboard rentals nearby. Also great for a larger group with volleyball, nice pools, horseshoes, and an attached casino.
