We visited the Pura Vida Gardens as part of our day long tour organised by Princess Cruises. It was a hot and humid day and following our Skywalk tour in the rainforest we greatly appreciated the delicious lunch and cold drinks provided for us. There are numerous plants and trees and although most of the paths around the garden are simple to navigate for those who might have mobility limitations, there is a steeply stepped section that is considerably more challenging!
The waterfalls were not large although I imagine they are considerably more impressive in the rainy season. They appear to be a fair distance from the main gardens, and our limited time meant we didn't have the chance of a closer look.
As we were on an organised tour, we had the advantage of an extremely knowledgeable guide who seemed to know pretty much everything about all the plants and even demonstrated the unusual qualities of the cashew fruit for us! However without the guide, we wouldn't have been able to identify many of the plants as there is little in the way of information given - maybe this is something that can be improved?
The owners came to meet us and were very personable and friendly, chatting through lunch and giving us information about some of the products available in the well-stocked and very reasonably priced gift shop.
