“Beautiful hotel but choose your room wisely”
Reviewed 27 June 2011

This is a cozy beautiful hotel, but I recommend staying in the rooms that have a view and are spacious (1-8) if you are traveling with family. I went with my husband and my daughter and we stayed at room 9 (cabina) the first night because all the other rooms were taken, well while the room was very clean and organized it is extremely small and doesn't have a view, so it should be Ok for any single person traveling, but even for a couple it is a little small. The second night we stayed at a VERY nice and spacious apartment with an amazing view and the owners even gave us an incredible discount, it didn,t have A/C but we didn,t need it since it had great natural ventilation (I actually think it was better than with A/C). The gardens surrounding the property are beautiful, the pool is nice and the complimentary breakfast was more than enough for us.
A good thing to know: this is a quiet and peaceful hotel like 10 min away from downtown Jaco and also from the beach, which in our case was perfect because we like being away from all the noise but also being able to go to the beach once or twice a day. But if you are looking to be all day long at the beach it may be a little uncomfortable.
The owners have two dogs, we love dogs an cats so we loved being around the furry friends but if you hate animals then you should know this before you go.
Overall, I would love to go again to this cozy hotel, but to one of the rooms with the breathtaking view.

Stayed here two nights in the first week of May. Jan, the owner gave us great advice on what to do in the area (a crock boat tour, a short drive to watch the most beautiful sunset I ever seen overlooking the ocean about 1100 feet high, and a recommended a nice hotel in Manuel Antonio for us to stay at). The rooms are clean and nice and at a great price. The view from the B&B is terrific as well. Jan and Gregg are extremely friendly and helpful. You can a use there book of places to see and do which is helpful as well.

A word to the wise traveler and that rents a car. First you need a 4WD and then have the rental agency remove the radio before you rent it. We had our radio stolen, a bottle of water and a pair of binoculars. The binoculars were stolen with the car locked an parked 50 feet from the police station and us no more than 100 feet from the car watching the sun set for 5 minutes. The car was still locked when we got back but no binoculars. Always try to leave your valuables in the room.

Also the best way to see Costa Rica is to rent a 4WD and plan your own trip with what you want to see. The main roads are good but once off of them the roads are quite adventuresome (rocky, bumby and rough).

Room Tip: Buy the travel book Lonely Planet.

My friends and I stayed at this hotel during the first week of May. The pictures online don't do it much justice, you must see in person. Greg and Jan were incredibly helpful and knew all the best places to visit while in Jaco. We felt like we were a part of their family and would highly recommend staying there, especially given their budget friendly pricing. Nightlife, restaurants, and surfing is but a short cab ride away and my only regret was not spending Saturday night in Jaco. I would L-O-V-E to go back and stay at this charming hotel.

Once again this little jewel meets all my needs and surpasses any of the other places I have stayed in the Jaco area. The perfect quiet location just a short distance to the beach. You can't go wrong staying with Jan & Greg.

Great hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Not all of the rooms have AC if that matters to you. Great cozy place away from the craziness of "downtown" Jaco

My Husband and I stayed at the Aparthotel Vista Pacifico for one night as part of a four week trip around Costa Rica. We arrived late afternoon looking for a room and were given quite a large cash discount for our one night stay. We were given an apartment over two floors, with a living area, kitchenette and bathroom downstairs and then a master bedroom and second bathroom upstairs. The hotel was very quiet and is very out of town, ideal if you want to experience the area without experiencing Jaco! The owners were very friendly and happy to provide lots of information on the area and places to visit and eat. They also stored our bags the following day so that we could go walking in the National Park without the worry of having our bags in our rental car. Breakfast was very nice and served outside, taking in the beautiful views from the hotel's hill-top location. The only issue we had was that none of the outside lighting (on either balconies) worked so we had to sit outside in the dark to enjoy an evening drink. We would certainly recommend unless you wanted to have a “true Jaco” experience because it is too far to walk into town.
