This is my second time staying at Casa Blanca. This magical place perched privately on the hill over looking the Coast. The first time we stayed, we took a little plane from the San Jose to Tambor but this time we decided to hire a car and drive. It was me, my partner and a couple of close friends. We rented a car at the San Jose airport which was really easy. Our flight arrived very late but the car rental company was still open. We slept in San Jose and left in the morning after breakfast.
Driving was very straight forward. We took the ferry-boat in Puntarenas to the other side which is Paquera. It was all a very easy process. It takes 2 hours from San Jose to the ferry and one and half on the ferry across the bay. Once you are in the other side , it is a very nice drive till you get to Malpais/Santa Teresa.
We arranged to meet up with Davie (the house guru), to get the keys and re-introduction to the house since the last last time I was there was about 4 years before. When we got to the house. OMG !! We were amazed when the gates opened at we arrived at the Villa. It looks as beautiful as ever. It was like time had not passed. However, as we explored, we enjoyed that there had been some amazing improvements: a beautiful gated entrance and the garden had grown and looked AMAZING.
The house benefits from a lovely living room, nice kitchen, 4 great bedrooms with fantastic views , beautiful pool and wonderful gardens. The place is immaculate, clean, airy, and has beautiful natural light. The rooms all have AC which works very well. The kitchen is very well equipped. Also you can hire the Caretaker, Davie, and his wife Lisbeth to cook for you. They are fantastic! What a meal to enjoy with great drinks. Davie speaks very good english and he is always just a call away! He is very helpful. Anything we needed, he was there to help with a smile. He cooked us a great meal with fresh fish and delicious ceviche.
To end it on the high note!!! OMG! The sunset! It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL each and every evening!!! Casa Blanca is little part of heaven on earth. I am going back there again as soon as possible!!!
Wow will be the first thing you think upon arrival at Casa Blanca and that is before you witness one of the most spectacular sunsets. On one side of the villa you have a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean and on other you have the rainforest with some of Costa Rica’s amazing wildlife.
The villa felt like home during our stay. It provided everything you needed to cook dinners and entertain friends. The property manager and owners were very helpful during our stay. The villa’s location was perfect, it was 10minute drive into the nearest town.
Casa Blanca is the perfect place to escape and relax.
I guess writing this review means that this wasn’t a dream. Casa Blanca is absolute paradise. The large open plan living area, to the infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the BBQ to the many natural pets you will come across while sunbathing, the incredible views when you wake up and the tranquility of the surrounding jungle. What more can I say, apart from I NEED to go back to paradise. The best house I’ve ever been to - I felt like a prince!
We stayed here for just over a week in December. Casa Blanca is a stunning property with the most amazing views, boasting some of the best sunsets I've seen! It's a great place to relax and is big enough to be in a group and still have privacy. Davey who looks after the house makes you feel so at home and is very helpful with the local area and things to do. The house was spotless with so many amenities ( smoothie maker, coffee machine, waffle maker... the list goes on!) A beautiful place to stay... really couldn't fault it! Except maybe stay longer... I'm missing the infinity pool and breakfast on the balcony. Will definitely return!
My family visited Casa Blanca for an amazing seven days of bliss. It felt like we were staying in our own personal resort. From the gourmet kitchen and open floor plan inside to the infinity pool and grass covered lanai outside we had every amenity we could ask for. To top it off the concierge was very welcoming and available anytime we needed his assistance or guidance. We highly recommend Casa Blanca if you’re looking for a relaxing oasis to get away from it all.
We have been renting this house since 2015. We've been going back every year and stayed in this house. Davie and his wife Lisbeth (care taker) always there for us whenever we need an assistance. They have always make us feel comfortable at our stays. Last year we have stayed 1 month and this year we stayed 2 weeks and have enjoyed it a lot. The view from this house is breath taking. We would recommend this house to our friends and family!!!
"Dream Vacation" is an understatement. Casa Blanca is a slice of heaven. This was our second visit and I cannot believe it could get any better. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, with super comfortable beds, great AC, all with beautiful views. Yes, the panoramic and priceless ocean view is seductive, but don't overlook that jungle view. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could imagine, even a juicer. Do yourself a favor and enjoy fresh tropical juices everyday...just add sunshine and tequila. Have Davie and Elizabeth cook for you. You won't find a better or more thoughtful meal. They even made me a birthday cake and tracked down dried hibiscus on request. (And yes, there are some great restaurant options nearby)
They've thought of everything here with a terrific sound system, and poignant lighting.
All of our needs and desires were met with ease and speed, including, atvs waiting for us upon arrival...the only way to get around if you are an adventure seeker! I loved it so much our first visit a few years back that I immediately retained a motorcycle license once back in NYC. Not to worry, if that isn't your speed, a 4WD rental will do.
Spend your mornings bird watching, iguana spotting, and banana picking, or jogging in the hills. Spend your afternoons sunning, swimming and snoozing in the many relaxing areas: the sea view hammock, jungle view daybed, conversation pit and patio, or the floating tent. See every single stunning sunset, the top deck is like a crow's nest. Then spend the evenings star gazing at a studded, twinkly sky.
This spot may be hard to get to, but you'll be rewarded in privacy and luxury. This property has it all. You won't want to leave.
