We stayed at Hotel Plaza Yara so this was right next door. We stopped in a few times for drinks and always had a good time. The food was pretty solid and inexpensive. Happy Hour drinks are really cheap. They have live music every night which I really enjoyed. Definitely recommended.

La Hacienda has excellent food and atmosphere. The dining area is open to the rain forest and provides an open atmosphere. The paintings on the walls and ceiling are also very entertaining. The menu had so many delicious options that we wanted to try. We opted for the specials including a curry and a pork tenderloin that were both very good. The dessert options were also vast and we had a delicious cheesecake.

The service here was not as friendly as some other places that we ate at and the tables are not very private, but they did have live entertainment/guitarist that kept us smiling.

I would recommend this restaurant to families or small groups.

We visited La Hacienda several times during our trip which occurred during the rainy season. Even when all other bars and restaurants in the area were empty, La Hacienda always had people in it eating dinner or getting drinks. The live music was not bad, but obviously the quality of the music will depend on when you are there and who is playing. The atmosphere is very beautiful; you feel like you are in the rainforest while eating.

The mango / brie quesadilla was amazing, as was their fish of the day. Our friends had the beef tenderloin one time and didn't enjoy it, but they loved everything else they ate there.

I also appreciated that for such a nice place it was not overpriced. I would recommend trying it at least once while visiting this area.
